'The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks' Book Will Reveal What Happened the Past 25 Years

Flatiron Books has announced its Macmillan division will publish "The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks," a novel that promises to reveal what has happened to the residents of that mythical burg since they were last seen a quarter-century ago on the groundbreaking ABC series, Twin Peaks , which aired in 1990-91. The publisher said Thursday the book is being written by Mark Frost, who was co-creator and executive producer of the series with David Lynch. It will be published in advance of the Showtime sequel announced last week to air in 2016. Frost called the novel a "dream project." 'Twin Peaks' Returning in 2016 as a Showtime Limited Series

The groundbreaking television phenomenon Twin Peaks , which ran on ABC from 1990-1991, will return as a new limited series on Showtime in 2016. Series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost will write and produce all nine episodes of the limited series, and Lynch will direct every episode. Twin Peaks will go into production in 2015 to air on the network in 2016, marking the 25th anniversary of when the program last aired. Set in the present day, Twin Peaks will continue the lore of the original series, providing long-awaited answers for the series' passionate fan base. Rumors about the return of the Twin Peaks , which aired on ABC from 1990 to 1991, circulate regularly but thanks to a couple of cryptic tweets we might actually be seeing Agent Cooper and gang back on the scene. On Friday, David Lynch and Mark Frost, creators of the original Twin Peaks series, hinted cryptically that fans could be in for a treat.
