Original Cast Member Tom Hallick Returning to 'The Young and the Restless'

Tom Hallick on The Young and the Restless in 1973 (left) and 2014 (with Gina Tognoni).
Tom Hallick, an original cast member of CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, is returning to the show for a visit but not as Brad Eliot, the neurosurgeon turned news reporter he played from 1973 to 1978.

Warning: Spoilers ahead...

According to TV Guide Magazine, Hallick will be seen as a kindly truck driver who helps an on-the-lam Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) find her way back to Genoa City. The setup is an homage to the very first scene in premiere episode of Y&R in 1973, which had Brad getting a lift from a truck driver (Clint Young) heading to Genoa City. Brad was running away from his life after the son of his finacée, Barbara Anderson (Deidre Hall), died on the operating room table.

"They found the same kind of truck and dug out the old script — only now I have the truck driver's dialogue and Gina has mine," Hallick tells TV Guide Magazine. "It was weird recreating the scene that way, but really pretty wonderful."
