Sharon Case on Her 'Y&R' Character Sharon: "She Doesn't Feel Responsible for What Happened to Sage."

Sharon Case
This week on The Young and the Restless, Sharon struggles to keep the secret that Nick (Joshua Morrow) and his late wife Sage (Kelly Sullivan) are the biological parents of her son Sully. If she doesn't reveal the truth, is she doing it to save herself?

"It's about whose lives are going to change and maybe not for the better," Case tells Soap Opera Digest. "Sharon worries that the loss of a child would be devastating for Dylan. She knows from personal experience how awful it is. Faith would be going though it, too, because she thinks of Sully as Sharon and Dylan's child, so it would be hard for her to believe otherwise. Sharon is also thinking about Sully, because she is the only mother he knows. It would be very jarring for him to be taken away from her. Sharon is thinking about all of these complications, as well as the fallout, and she thinks that it's better to just stay quiet for now and leave things the way they are."

Chrishell Stause Talks New Y&R Role Bethany Bryant.

Chrishell Stause (ex-Jordan DAYS; ex-Amanda AMC) has joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in the recurring role of Bethany Bryant, and the actress couldn't be happier.

"As an actress, it's one of those parts you always hope to get, so I feel I really lucked out," Stause tells Soap Opera Digest.

How does Stause describe her new character? "I would describe her as completely in the moment, very fun and a little ornery. Bethany is definitely out to have fun at other people's expense. I'm excited for this character to start airing because she is so much fun to play."

The popular actress is currently working without a contract, but she is fine with that for the time being. "I feel the possibilities are endless with this character. I'm having a lot of fun with this and I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Right now, I'm having a blast and I can't wait to see where this goes, so who knows?"

Stause didn't have any first-day jitters. "Aside from already having so many friends over there and joining all these familiar faces on an amazing show, it's the perfect character for me, so that really helped..."

Familiar faces include her real-life boyfriend Justin Hartley (Adam) and best friend, Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea). "Even though I'm given my own dressing room, I end up together with one of them anyway," she laughs. "Just in the few days I've been there, it's been nice that we've had lunch together. There's a lot of hard work going on, but it's awesome when you have down time and you can sneak in and say, 'Hey, I'm going to grab some food, are you hungry?' It's a cool perk of the job."

Stause debuts as Bethany Bryant on May 25.

'The Young and the Restless' Star Justin Hartley: "It’s the best job I have ever had. I’m very happy.”

Justin Hartley
The Young and the Restless star Justin Hartley (Adam Newman) is featured in the April issue of Watch! Magazine.

“Justin is a gifted actor,” says Angelica McDaniel, head of daytime for CBS Entertainment. “We knew he would bring a fresh perspective to Adam Newman, and his energy and talent have quickly made him not only a fan favorite, but also an important addition to our cast.”

“I think [Adam] is going to find himself with every single thing he ever wanted—and I think he is going to find himself caught in a lie,” Hartley says. “I don’t think he thinks he is a bad boy. Adam is the smartest guy in the room … so he thinks. Something always implodes on him, and it’s usually brought on by himself. He’s a lover and a fighter—skewed 60/40 one way or another at any given time. He leads with his heart, his fist and his brain.”

“At the risk of making my co-stars angry, I think Adam is the best role on television right now,” says Hartley. “On paper, Adam is a perfect character; my plan was to shift it to where I wanted it. A good role is a good role—I don’t care if it’s on a stage, on daytime or prime time, it doesn’t matter. It’s the best job I have ever had. I’m very happy.”

Daytime Emmys - Outstanding Lead Actor/Actress - Top 5

Daytime Emmys - Outstanding Lead Actor/Actress - My Top 5
By Carolyn LeVine Topol
I never (at least rarely) shy away from a challenge. The task at hand — select my top five choices among all the acting nominees for the 2016 Daytime Emmys. I was completely overwhelmed by this daunting decision, so I offered a compromise. Despite the quality performances by all the nominated actors, I will put myself out on a limb, and narrow the list down to my top five in the combined categories of Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress.

Since I am not privy to the actual submission, I am basing my selections on the stars’ 2015 performances.

Justin Hartley on Playing Adam Newman on 'The Young and the Restless': "I'd Like to Add A Little Bit of Levity"

The Young and the Restless stars Justin Hartley, Melissa Claire Egan and Burgess Jenkins.
Justin Hartley makes his debut as Adam Newman in The Young and the Restless on Wednesday, November 5. He spoke to The Wrap about replacing Michael Muhney in the role, his take on the character, friendly new castmates and working with Sally Kellerman.

Warning: Spoilers ahead...

What is your general approach to the character? What will distinguish your portrayal?
I'd like to add a little bit of levity to certain things, depending on what's happening. In this genre, there are days where you go in and there is absolutely no room for any kind of levity, it's all serious and things like that. And then there are other days where you can get a little broader with the character and things like that. I think as long as I have my finger on the pulse of what's going on story-wise and the character and where I'm coming from, I think it will just sort of happen. And I think I'm taller — I think I'll add a little height.
