Has Kristoff St. John Become an "Extra" on 'The Young and the Restless'?

Kristoff St. John
It seemed as though Emmy-winning actor Kristoff St. John finally had a frontburner story on The Young and the Restless as his character, Neil Winters, discovered that his wife Hilary (Mishael Morgan) was hitting the sheets with his son Devon. Neil subsequently returned to the bottle in a big way. But what happened to his story? Ever since Charles Pratt Jr. took over as head writer and executive producer on The Young and the Restless, his screentime has dwindled. Some are even wondering if he is an extra, as one of St. John's neighbors recently asked him.

The talented actor is still under contract but the airtime for Neil, Devon (Emmy winner Bryton James) and Hilary has diminished in recent months (don't get me started on the disappearance of "Hevon"), coinciding with Pratt's reign (and Victoria Rowell's lawsuit). By posting the tweet above, is St. John sending a message to bosses that he needs more airtime? If so, hopefully Y&R's head writer, producing team, CBS and Sony are listening.

On a related note, Mishael Morgan revealed to Soaps in Depth on Monday that she is expecting her first child in August.

Life in Genoa City is about to be turned upside down as shocking drama unfolds throughout the month of February. In the action-packed episodes beginning Friday, February 13, life for the Winters’ family spirals out of control when they take a trip to Chicago in the midst of a winter storm and their plane goes down. In addition, Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) learns of his son Devon Hamilton's (Bryton James) affair with his wife Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan); Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) clashes with her husband Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) as she puts the bottle before her marriage and family; and bad boy Adam Newman (Justin Hartley) inches closer to winning back his wife Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) under his new identity, Gabriel Bingham. 'Marry US For Christmas' Premieres Tonight on UP, Stars Malinda Williams, Victoria Rowell and Karon Riley

Marry Us For Christmas premieres December 7 on UP.
UP Original Movie Marry US For Christmas premieres on Sunday, December 7 at 7 p.m. ET. The film stars Malinda Williams (Soul Food), Victoria Rowell (The Young and the Restless) and Karon Riley (35 and Ticking).

In the sequel to last year's popular UP Original Movie Marry Me For Christmas, it's a year after Marci (Williams) and Blair (Riley) declared their love for each other and decided to tie the knot. But as the big day approaches, Marci is so consumed with work that she hasn't had time to plan her wedding. To make matters worse, she may have to team up with former assistant/fake fiancé Adam to win a project she's been vying for – a little tidbit she hasn't shared with Blair. But Blair, as it turns out, has a secret of his own. Thanks to years of doing pro bono work for financially-strapped clients, he quickly is running out of cash and might have to accept an offer to work for his longtime nemesis, Marci's manipulative cousin Preston. Meanwhile, Marci's mother Stephanie (Rowell) is making some rather bold moves of her own with her sexy salsa teacher, Antonio, who's more than a little smitten with her — and about 20 years her junior. Will there be a wedding for Christmas? Better yet - whose wedding will it be?

Naturally, the festivities wouldn't be complete without family, including Marci's Uncle Donald (GregAlan Williams), Aunt Myra (DeEtta West), Aunt Elizabeth (Chrystale Wilson), Charlene (Dawn Halfkenny) and Antonio’s uncle Lawrence Simpson (Kristoff St. John).

News Brief: Shemar Moore on 'Y&R' Script; 'Scandal' Recasts First Daughter; Rebecca Mader, Colleen Zenk to 'Blue Bloods'

Shemar Moore and Kristoff St. John.
* Shemar Moore and Kristoff St. John reworked The Young and the Restless script for his return on September 10 and 11. "The original script did not pay enough attention to the Winters family history — they had us discussing all this more recent stuff Malcolm didn't know anything about — so I got on the phone with Kristoff and we worked out a few ideas. We then went to speak with Mrs. Phelps [executive producer Jill Farren Phelps] and expressed our concerns and she was great. We were able to get in some great references to the past that I think the longtime audience will really appreciate. I hope and believe the fans will like what they witness, but I think they're going to wish that many other questions and topics had been addressed."

* There's a new First Daughter in town. Scandal has tapped Body of Proof's Mary Mouser to play Karen Grant, who was previously portrayed by Madeline Carroll,

* Matt Nable (Riddick) has been tapped to play DC Comics villain Ra's al Ghul on Arrow.

* Once Upon a Time has tapped Frances O’Connor to play Belle's mother in the upcoming fourth season. The 47-year-old actress will portray Colette, whom we'll meet briefly in the sixth episode, but find out she had an immense impact on Belle’s life. There’s a possibility to see her again later in the season.

'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Neil's Shocking Accident, and Gina Tognoni Debuts as Phyllis

Neil's (Kristoff St. John) shocking accident may change lives forever, and Gina Tognoni joins the cast as Phyllis to shake things up on The Young and The Restless during the week of August 11-15, 2014. Watch a preview in the latest promo for Y&R below:

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Mishael Morgan Shares Insights on Playing Hilary Curtis on the Soap Opera She Grew Up Watching, 'The Young and the Restless'

Mishael Morgan. Photo Credit: Wendy Hall
Mishael Morgan was studying Political Science at York University when she changed course and decided to pursue acting. Her star has been on the rise ever since. She quickly landed a role in the Trey Songz "Wonder Woman" music video, and a series regular role as Tracy Dupont-Roymont in YTV's Family Biz. She has appeared in television shows such as Beauty & The Beast and Supernatural, and in films like Casino Jack and Total Recall. She can currently be seen in Dark Rising: Warrior of Worlds, and her new movie Swearnet premieres on September 12th. In May 2013 she joined the cast of CBS daytime drama The Young and the Restless as Hilary Curtis, a young woman seeking revenge for her mother's death. These days, Hilary is involved in a frontburner love triangle with Neil (Kristoff St. John) and his son, Devon (Bryton James).

Serial Scoop recently caught up with Morgan to discuss her career and starring role in Y&R. Read our exclusive interview below.

SERIAL SCOOP: You’ve been on The Young and the Restless for over a year now. How have you adjusted to being a soap star?
MISHAEL MORGAN: I think I’ve adjusted quite well, I believe. It’s really interesting when fans come up. Bryton and I were having dinner one night after work and a fan came up to us, and she was so excited about the show. She told us this amazing story about how her husband, who is a stockbroker, has all of these screens on with sports and stocks and markets, and he has one screen on with Y&R for her because she comes in and out, and he leaves it on for her. She asked him how his day was going, and he replied, "Everything is going good, but did you see what is going on with Hilary and Devon?" It was so funny. It’s just so amazing that we impact peoples lives like that. I think I’m kind of getting used to that. It’s flattering and it's an honor and a blessing. I’m part of such an amazing cast and crew. I can’t even believe I'm on The Young and the Restless. I’ve been watching it my whole life. I was sitting there last night, and I remember looking up at the stage across at the Newman Ranch set. And I thought, "I am really on The Young and the Restless. This is insanity."

Neil and Hilary are Doomed on 'The Young and the Restless'!

Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) seems like a sweet girl, and is trying to turn her life around. I totally understand her attraction to Neil Winters (Kristoff St.John).  He is powerful, works out, and has a very supportive family (well, except when it comes to her).   But Hilary needs to understand one thing: there is only one woman for Neil, and that woman is Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell). I know everyone thinks she is dead, but I am certain she is alive right now plotting Hilary's demise. Hilary doesn't know it, but Dru would kill her without thinking twice about it. She is kind of tough.

In case Hilary needs to learn about about Neil and Dru's relationship before the showdown (which will probably only happen in my dreams), below are some classic moments from their past she should definitely check out.
