Jen Lilley (Days of our Lives) and Ryan Paevey (General Hospital) star in A Little Daytime Drama, a new, original movie premiering tonight at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Hallmark Channel as part of the network's annual "Summer Nights" programming event. Also starring is Another World legend and Emmy winner Linda Dano.

Alice (Dano), the creator and producer of the show, wants to retire and hopes to pass the baton to Maggie. Wanting to boost ratings and save the show, Alice plans to bring back fan-favorite actor Darin (Paevey)…who also happens to be Maggie’s ex-boyfriend. When Darin exited the show to star in an ill-fated play, their relationship ended on a sour note, so Maggie wrote out his character. Now, she must convince Darin to return. Will they be able to set aside their old, hurt feelings and work together to save the show, and their careers, in the process?

Trailer Released for Jillian Clare's 'To The Beat! Back 2 School'

Vision Films will release To The Beat! Back 2 School, the second film from director and actress, Jillian Clare (Victorious: Freak The Freak Out, Days of our Lives, Pretty Broken) on all major VOD platforms and DVD on March 10, 2020. To The Beat! Back 2 School is the sequel to the hit teen comedy To The Beat!, released in 2018 from Leonian Pictures and Clare's Whimsical Entertainment.
In the highly anticipated sequel, the popular teen cast goes back to their performing arts school following spring break to compete for an all-expense paid summer scholarship program to a prestigious conservatory of fine arts. Friendships and feuds continue as sisterhood is tested, new bonds are formed, and rivalries heat up leading to a drama-filled evening at the epic 80’s Spring Fling where a major scheme shuts down the party and jeopardizes the upcoming end-of-year showcase.
"I'm honored and so excited to be one of very few women who have directed both the original and sequel in a film series," Clare says. "I've been able to grow so much as a director with these films and they hold a special place in my heart. Fans have patiently waited for this sequel and they won’t be disappointed."
The film reunites Laura Krystine and Brisa Lalich as twin sisters Mackie and Mia, with Jayden Bartels starring as their frenemy, Avery.
Soap opera fans will recognize a number of familiar faces in the film, including Clare, Days of our Lives stars Martha Madison, Eric Martsolf (Michael) and Marie Wilson (Camila), and former General Hospital actress Lilly Melgar.

PHOTOS: 'Naomi & Ely's No Kiss List' Premieres at Outfest 2015
Victoria Justice and Pierson Fode. Photo Credit: Imeh Akpanukosen |
In Naomi & Ely's No Kiss List, Naomi (Justice) and Ely (Fode) are best friends. Naomi loves and is in love with Ely, and Ely loves Naomi, but prefers to be in love with boys. So they create their "No Kiss List" of people neither of them is allowed to kiss. And this works fine - until Bruce (Ryan Ward). Bruce is Naomi's boyfriend, so there's no reason to put him on the List. But Ely kissed Bruce even though he is boring. The result: a rift of universal proportions and the potential end of "Naomi and Ely: the institution." Can these best friends come back together again?
The film is directed by Kristin Hanggi from an adaptation written by Amy Andelson and Emily Meyer. The film is produced by Alexandra Milchan, Lesley Vogel, Emily Gerson Saines, Hanggi and Bob Abramoff, and executive produced by Skip Klintworth.

Feature Film 'Limelight' Announces Cast!
![]() |
Paul Vandervort |
June 11th, 2015 – Los Angeles, CA - Production begins this week for Limelight, a beautifully gritty drama about fame, obsession, and vanity in Hollywood. The film follows small-town, social media obsessed narcissist Miles Chance (Paul Vandervort) and his journey to Hollywood in pursuit of fame.
The film is directed by up-and-comer James Cullen Bressack, who has already completed 10 feature films at the age of 23. His last two projects were a pilot with Eli Roth and a film starring Shannen Doherty and Tom Green. His film Pernicious goes to limited theatrical and VOD beginning June 19th.
In addition to writing the screenplay for Limelight, Paul Vandervort (Hollywood Miles) is both producing and acting in the project. Vandervort says of the film, “My goal with Limelight is to take the classic ‘small-town kid goes to big city’ scenario, but dig deeper to comment on the narcissism of Hollywood behind the scenes to tell a story that we really haven’t seen yet. To help with this, we are using a handful of actors against their normal ‘type,’ like Jenna Jameson in a serious, non-sexual role.”
The cast also includes: Timmy Deters (Bad News Bears), Sean Kanan (The Karate Kid, Part III) Mike C. Manning, (Disney’s Cloud 9), Teri Andrez (Sorority Row), David Chokachi (Baywatch), Dante Basco (Hook), Erin Sanders (Zoey 101), Bruce Vilanch (Get Bruce), Jason Brooks (Star Trek), Kirsten Nelson (Psych), Eddie Steeples (My Name Is Earl), Ciara Hanna (Power Rangers Megaforce), Najarra Townsend (Contracted), and Ryan Ahern (Argo).

Amazon to Begin Production on Original Movies for Theaters, Prime Instant Video
Amazon Studios, known for television series such as multi-Golden Globe winner Transparent, Annie-nominated Tumble Leaf, and Mozart in the Jungle, today announced that it will begin to produce and acquire original movies for theatrical release and early window distribution on Amazon Prime Instant Video. Whereas it typically takes 39 to 52 weeks for theatrical movies to premiere on subscription video services, Amazon Original Movies will premiere on Prime Instant Video in the U.S. just 4 to 8 weeks after their theatrical debut. Amazon Original Movies will focus on unique stories, voices, and characters from top and up-and-coming creators.
“We look forward to expanding our production efforts into feature films. Our goal is to create close to twelve movies a year with production starting later this year,” said Roy Price, Vice President, Amazon Studios. “Not only will we bring Prime Instant Video customers exciting, unique, and exclusive films soon after a movie’s theatrical run, but we hope this program will also benefit filmmakers, who too often struggle to mount fresh and daring stories that deserve an audience.”
