'Homeland' Season 5 Trailer Released

The fifth season premiere of Homeland airs Sunday, October 4th at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime. The network has released the full-length trailer for its Emmy and Golden Globe-winning hit drama series.

Recently nominated for the Emmy for Outstanding Drama series, Homeland stars Emmy, Screen Actors Guild and Golden Globe Award winner Claire Danes, Emmy nominee Rupert Friend, Oscar winner and Emmy nominee F. Murray Abraham, Sebastian Koch, Screen Actors Guild winner Miranda Otto, Alexander Fehling, Sarah Sokolovic, and Emmy and Tony winner Mandy Patinkin.

Homeland season five will pick up two years after Carrie Mathison's (Danes) ill-fated tenure as Islamabad station chief. Struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with years of working on the front lines in the "war on terror," Carrie finds herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working as the head of security for a German philanthropist.

"Homeland' Season 5 Premieres October 4, Followed by Return of 'The Affair'

Showtime has announced that the highly anticipated fifth season of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning hit drama series Homeland will premiere on Sunday, October 4th at 9 p.m. ET/PT, followed by the second season premiere of the Golden Globe-winning drama The Affair at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The network also released the new season key art for Homeland's fifth season.

Homeland season five will pick up two years after Carrie Mathison's (Emmy, Screen Actors Guild and Golden Globe Award winner Claire Danes) ill-fated tenure as Islamabad station chief. Struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with years of working on the front lines in the "war on terror," Carrie finds herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working as the head of security for a German philanthropist. Homeland is currently in production in Berlin, and is the first American TV series to shoot entirely in Germany. Season five also stars Emmy nominee Rupert Friend, Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham, Sebastian Koch, Screen Actors Guild winner Miranda Otto, Alexander Fehling, Sarah Sokolovic, and Emmy and Tony winner Mandy Patinkin. Produced by Fox 21 Television Studios, Homeland was developed for American television by Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon, and is based on the original Israeli series "Prisoners of War" by Gideon Raff. Along with Gansa and Gordon, the executive producers for season five are Meredith Stiehm, Patrick Harbinson, Chip Johannessen, Alexander Cary, Lesli Linka Glatter, Gideon Raff, Avi Nir and Ran Telem.

Season 5 of 'Homeland' To Shoot in Germany This Summer

Homeland will become the first American TV series to shoot an entire season in Germany.
Showtime and Fox 21 Television Studios have announced today that season five of the Emmy and Golden Globe award winning series Homeland will shoot on location in Germany. Beginning production in early June at the famed Studio Babelsberg in Berlin, Homeland will become the first American television series to shoot a full season entirely in Germany. Season five will pick-up two years after Carrie Mathison’s (Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe Award winner Claire Danes) ill-fated tenure as Islamabad station chief. Struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with years of working on the front lines in the “war on terror,” Carrie finds herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working for a private security firm. Homeland’s 12-episode season will premiere this fall on Showtime.

Produced by Fox 21 Television Studios, Homeland was developed for American television by Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon, and is based on the original Israeli series Prisoners of War by Gideon Raff. Along with Gansa, Gordon and Raff, the executive producers for season five are Alexander Cary, Chip Johannessen, Meredith Stiehm, Patrick Harbinson, Lesli Linka Glatter, Avi Nir and Ran Telem.

67th Annual DGA Awards: Complete List of Winners


The winners of the Directors Guild of America Outstanding Directorial Achievement Awards for 2014 were announced Saturday night during the 67th Annual DGA Awards Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles. Alejandro G. Iñárritu won the DGA’s Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance).

Actor Jane Lynch hosted the ceremony before an audience of more than 1,600 guests. Presenters included (in alphabetical order): DGA President Paris Barclay; Chadwick Boseman; Pierce Brosnan; Glen Charles; Les Charles; Bradley Cooper; Alfonso Cuarón; Julie Delpy; Jodie Foster; Taraji P. 'Homeland' Hits Another Season Ratings High

Season 4 has been one of creative and ratings resurgence for Homeland.
Showtime drama Homeland delivered its best episode rating and total night of the season for the third consecutive week:

Homeland grew for the seventh consecutive episode and delivered its best episode rating of the season with 1.95 million viewers at 9 p.m., up +10% vs. its last episode and +21% vs. the season premiere (1.6 million).

Homeland delivered a season high 2.55 million viewers for the night, up +10% vs. its last episode and up +28% vs. the season premiere night (2 million).

Season-to-date, the series is delivering 5.6 million weekly viewers across platforms.

Showtime Running 'Homeland' & 'The Affair' Marathons During Thanksgiving Weekend

The fourth season of Homeland premiered in October.
Over Thanksgiving weekend, Showtime will be airing full catch-up marathons of the current seasons of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series Homeland beginning on Saturday, November 29th at 3 p.m. ET/PT, and the critically-acclaimed new drama The Affair on Sunday, November 30th starting at 4 p.m. ET/PT. Viewers can also catch up on the current seasons via Showtime ON DEMAND and Showtime ANYTIME. New episodes of both hit series return on Sunday, December 7th starting at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The marathon event comes after the recently announced pick-ups of The Affair for a second season and of Homeland for a fifth season.

'Homeland' Season 4 Premieres Tonight With Back-to-Back New Episodes

Homeland premieres October 5 on Showtime.
Homeland kicks off its fourth season with back-to-back episodes ("The Drone Queen" and "Trylon and Perisphere") on Sunday, October 5, starting at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.

As last season drew to a close, Carrie Mathison (Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe winner Claire Danes), pregnant with the late Brody's (Damian Lewis) baby, got promoted to a new post overseas, while Saul Berenson (Emmy and Tony Award winner Mandy Patinkin) contemplated his future outside of the CIA.

Filmed entirely on location in South Africa, Season 4 begins with Carrie, the CIA Chief of Station in Kabul, making a critical decision when her counterpart in Islamabad delivers urgent intelligence on a high-value target. Back in the U.S., Saul struggles to adjust to the private sector.

An official inquiry brings Carrie back to the U.S., where she struggles with her ambivalence towards motherhood. Meanwhile, Quinn spirals out of control; and a disgraced former case officer reveals disturbing new information.

Mark Moses, Art Malik and Nimrat Kaur Join 'Homeland' Season 4

Mark Moses, Art Malik and Nimrat Kaur
Mark Moses and Indian actress Nimrat Kaur have joined the fourth season of Homeland for several episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Art Malik will appear in at least one episode.

Moses, whose TV roles include Mad Men's Duck Phillips and Paul Young on Desperate Housewives, will play something of a debauched expat. His character, Dennis, is described as an academic teaching political science at Islamabad's Quaid-I-Azam University. Kaur, who scored crossover success with 2013 Cannes darling The Lunchbox, will get her first big U.S. showing as a high-level operative within Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence.

Showtime Releases First 'Homeland' Season 4 First Look Trailer (Video)

Showtime has unveiled the Season 4 poster for its No. 1 series Homeland, premiering on Sunday, October 5th at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The highly-anticipated drama stars Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe winner Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, a bi-polar CIA officer who plays by her own rules.

As last season drew to a close Carrie, pregnant with the late Brody's (Damian Lewis) baby, got promoted to a new post overseas, while Saul Berenson (Emmy and Tony Award winner Mandy Patinkin) contemplated his future outside of the CIA. Season four will find Carrie assigned to one of the most volatile and dangerous CIA stations in the Middle East where she is back on the front lines in the war on terror.

Along with Danes and Patinkin, Emmy nominee Rupert Friend will return for Season 4, along with Nazanin Boniadi and Laila Robins who will both be series regulars.

Laila Robins and Corey Stoll Join Season Four of 'Homeland'

Corey Stoll and Laila Robins have joined the Homeland cast.
Acclaimed actors Laila Robins (Bored to Death, In Treatment) and Golden Globe nominee Corey Stoll (House of Cards) have joined the fourth season of the Emmy and Golden GlobeAward-winning drama series Homeland. Robins joins as a series regular in the role of “Martha Boyd,” the United States Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who is professional and put together, with a ship-to-ship voice and the personality to match. Stoll will guest star as “Sandy Bachman,” the CIA Chief of Station in Pakistan and a rising star in the Agency's firmament. The series' fourth season will begin production later this month in Cape Town, South Africa. The network's No. 1 rated series with an average of seven million weekly viewers, Homeland will return to Showtime this fall.
