'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Mid-Season Premiere Delivers 15.9 Million Total Viewers


The Walking Dead returned Sunday night for the second half of its seventh season with increases in total viewers and key demos from December's mid-season finale. Sunday night's return delivered 15.9 million total viewers, 9.9 million adults 18-49 and 10 million adults 25-54 in Nielsen live+3 ratings. Total viewers were up 5 percent from December, adults 18-49 increased 3 percent and adults 25-54 increased 5 percent.

Talking Dead remains television's #1 talk show, returning with 5.6 million total viewers, 3.2 adults 18-49 and 3.4 adults 25-54 in Nielsen live+3 ratings.

Daytime Ratings: 'Days of our Lives' Up For The Week In Women 18-49 and 18-34

The Live + Same Day daytime ratings are in for January 9-January 13, 2016. According to Nielsen, The Young and the Restless (-298,000), The Bold and the Beautiful (-290,000), General Hospital (-165,000) and Days of our Lives (-40,000) were all down for the week in total viewers.

However, Days of our Lives was up in women 18-49 (+8,000), while Y&R (+12,000), B&B (+37,000), and Days (+10,000) were up in women 18-34.

Daytime Ratings: 'General Hospital' Up for the Week in All Major Demos

The Live + Same Day daytime ratings are in for January 2-January 6, 2016. According to Nielsen, The Bold and the Beautiful was the only soap up for the week in total viewers (+55,000), while General Hospital (+107,000) was up for the week in all major demos.

Please Note: There were preemptions on January 6 due to the Fort Lauderdale Airport shooting.

Updated Daytime Ratings: All Soaps Up For The Week

The Live + Same Day daytime ratings are in for December 26-December 30, 2016. According to Nielsen, Days of our Lives (+91,000), The Young and the Restless (+361,000), The Bold and the Beautiful (+266,000), and General Hospital  (+130,000) were up for the week in total viewers.

Meanwhile, Y&R (+65,000) B&B (+17,000), and Days (+14,000) were also up in the women 18-49 demo, while GH (-30,000) was the only soap down for the week.

The Live + Same Day daytime ratings are in for December 19-December 23, 2016. According to Nielsen, Days of our Lives (+120,000), The Young and the Restless (+107,000), The Bold and the Beautiful (+48,000), and General Hospital (+54,000) were all up for the week in total viewers.

Meanwhile, Y&R (+35,000) B&B (+46,000), and GH (+9,000) were up in the women 18-49 demo.

Daytime Ratings: 'General Hospital' and B&B Up in Total Viewers Versus Same Week Last Year

The Live + Same Day daytime ratings are in for December 5-December 9, 2016. According to Nielsen, The Young and the Restless (-18,000), The Bold and the Beautiful (-50,000), General Hospital (-17,000), and Days of our Lives (-261,000) were all down in total viewers for the week.

Y&R (-8,000), B&B (-9,000), GH (-25,000), and DAYS (-19,000) also saw losses in the women 18-49 demo as well.

The news wasn't all bad though. B&B (+81,000), and GH (+9,000) were up in total viewers versus the same week last year.

The Live + Same Day daytime ratings are in for November 28-December 2, 2016. According to Nielsen, Days of our Lives was the only soap up for the week in total viewers. DAYS was also up in the women 18-49 demo, and the women 25-54 demo.

According to Nielsen, The Young and the Restless saw increased viewership in the key demographic categories: Women 18-49 (+22K), Women 18-34 (+4K) and Women 25-54 (+29K). Days of our Lives has lost 549,000 viewers since last year at this time.

'Greenleaf' Is the Most Watched New Cable Show of Summer


OWN's hit drama series "Greenleaf" is the most watched new cable show of the summer, and year to date is the #1 original cable series on Wednesday nights for women. The series delivered record numbers with its season finale last night (8/31) with 2.4 million viewers and a 1.84 women 25-54 rating making it the network's most watched and highest rated Wednesday telecast in network history.

The success of "Greenleaf" along with Tyler Perry's "The Haves and the Have Nots" gave OWN its highest monthly primetime rank in network history in August (#12) among women 25-54, while OWN's +11% prime growth over last August made it the fastest growing Top 15 Network on ad-supported cable. The network also delivered two of the summer's Top 3 scripted series on ad-supported cable for women with "Greenleaf" and "The Haves and the Have Nots."
