Syfy Movie 'The Hollow' Premeires Tonight, Stars Stephanie Hunt, Alisha Newton & Sarah Dugdale

Syfy movie The Hollow premieres Saturday, October 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The film stars Stephanie Hunt (Californication), Alisha Newton (Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters) and Sarah Dugdale (Sorority Murders).

It's Halloween eve on Shelter Island, and the small town is preparing for a killer storm. But the dark clouds gathering over the island are bringing with them a curse one-hundred years in waiting. As the woods give birth to an ungodly and insatiable creature of fire, bones, and earth, three sisters must scramble to stay alive through the long dark night of the Hollow. For it's not something you can kill. It's only something you can try and survive.

Syfy Movie 'They Found Hell' Premeires Tonight, Stars Chris Schellenger, Katy Reece & Austin Scott

Syfy movie They Found Hell premieres Saturday, October 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The film stars Chris Schellenger (Hacker's Game), Katy Reece (When the Pile is Crooked) and Austin Scott (Prep School).

When a group of gifted college students run a secret teleportation experiment, they accidentally open a portal to another dimension, trapping them in Hell. One by one they are hunted, tortured and killed by the denizens of Hell who are bent on stealing their souls.

Dennis Haysbert, David Hewlett and Ian Tracey Join Syfy Pilot 'Incorporated'

Syfy today announced that Golden Globe nominee Dennis Haysbert (24), David Hewlett (Stargate Atlantis) and Ian Tracey (Wayward Pines) have joined the cast of the channel’s new futuristic espionage thriller pilot Incorporated from Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's Pearl Street Films, CBS Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions.

Set in a world where companies have unlimited power, executive Ben Larson (Sean Teale, Reign) is forced to change his identity in order to infiltrate a cut-throat corporate world at SPIGA and save the woman he loves. In the process, he will take on the entire system -- with deadly consequences.

Syfy to Develop Frederik Pohl's Hugo and Nebula Award-Winning Novel 'Gateway' as Scripted Series

Syfy has announced that it will develop Frederik Pohl's Hugo and Nebula Award-winning novel Gateway about humanity's encounter with a mysterious, ancient alien civilization as a one-hour scripted series with Entertainment One Television (eOne) and Universal Cable Productions (UCP). eOne will distribute the series worldwide.

David Eick (Battlestar Galactica) and Josh Pate (Falling Skies) collaborated on the adaptation and will serve as executive producers on the series. Eick will revise a pilot script written by Pate and serve as showrunner. The series will also be executive produced by Martha De Laurentiis through the De Laurentiis Company, former eOne Television executive Michael Rosenberg, and Lorenzo De Maio. eOne Television's Gerard Bocaccio, SVP US Scripted Development, will oversee the project for the studio.

Syfy Announces Premiere Date for 'Childhood's End,' Adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke's Landmark Novel

Arthur C. Clarke's Childhood's End, one of the most-acclaimed science fiction novels of all time, will come to life in the first-ever adaptation beginning December 14 on Syfy. This six-hour television event from Syfy and Universal Cable Productions will air over three consecutive nights on Monday, December 14, Tuesday, December 15 and Wednesday, December 16 from 8-10PM (ET/PT).

Executive produced by award-winning producers Akiva Goldsman (Lone Survivor, A Beautiful Mind, I Am Legend) and Michael De Luca (Captain Phillips, Moneyball, The Social Network), the star-studded cast is led by Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Mike Vogel (Under the Dome), Daisy Betts (The Last Resort), Yael Stone (Orange is the New Black), Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck), Osy Ikhile (The Fear) and Colm Meaney (Star Trek: The Next Generation).

Syfy's 'The Expanse' Blasts Off with a Two-Night Premiere on December 14, 15

Syfy's highly anticipated space thriller The Expanse will launch with a two-night premiere Monday, December 14 and Tuesday, December 15 at 10PM (ET/PT). The epic drama from Alcon TV is based on the international best-selling book series of the same name and will regularly air on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET for the remainder of its 10-episode first season.

The most ambitious series in Syfy history, The Expanse is set two hundred years in the future, after mankind has colonized the solar system. A hardened detective (Thomas Jane, Hung) and a rogue ship's captain (Steven Strait, Magic City) come together for what starts as the case of a missing young woman and evolves into a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history.

'The Magicians' Kicks Off Production, Olivia Taylor Dudley Joins Cast

Syfy and Universal Cable Productions’ (UCP) latest scripted drama series, The Magicians, commenced season one production on August 4 in Vancouver, Canada. The 13 episode season will air in early 2016 on Syfy.

Starring Jason Ralph (Quentin Coldwater), Stella Maeve (Julia), Hale Appleman (Eliot), Arjun Gupta (Penny) and Summer Bishil (Margo), The Magicians is based on Lev Grossman’s best-selling novels. The series centers on Quentin, a brilliant grad student chosen to attend Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy, a secret upstate New York university specializing in magic. He and his 20-something friends soon discover that the magical fantasy world they read about as children is all too real – and poses grave danger to humanity.

Olivia Taylor Dudley will also join the cast as a series regular, it was announced today. Dudley plays Alice, an intensely shy and delicately lovely young woman. Born of a magical but neglectful family, Alice is an outcast among her fellow students at Brakebills, but nonetheless emerges as the most brilliant magical practitioner in her class.

Syfy Greenlights 'Blood Drive,' Brings Grindhouse Genre to Television


Syfy and Universal Cable Productions have greenlit Blood Drive, a high-octane, over-the-top scripted series in the classic grindhouse movie tradition. Set in a near-apocalyptic future, the 13-episode series centers around LA's last good cop who is forced to join a twisted, gory cross-country death race -- with cars powered by blood and a dangerous femme fatale partner who sees people as fuel.

Blood Drive is from executive producers John Hlavin (Underworld: Awakening, The Shield) and David Straiton (Bates Motel, Hemlock Grove), who will also direct.

Sharknado Week Coming to Syfy July 18-25


The sharks are coming - and a few tarantulas! Syfy's second annual Sharknado Week (July 18-25) will showcase seven original wild and gory movies featuring heroes such as Ian Ziering, Steve Guttenberg, Casper Van Dien and Danny Trejo battling bloodthirsty creatures and saving humanity.

Sharknado Week will be highlighted by the eagerly anticipated premiere of the global pop culture sensation Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! on Wednesday, July 22nd at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

SECOND ANNUAL SYFY SHARKNADO WEEK JULY 18-25

· Roboshark premieres Saturday, July 18th at 7 p.m. ET/PT - A great white shark in the Pacific Ocean devours an alien space probe and ends up terrorizing Seattle. Stars: Hristo Balabanov (Robocroc), Nigel Barber (Firequake), Laura Dale (Sherlock) and Isaac Haig (Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever).

· Megashark vs Kolossus premieres Saturday, July 18th at 9 p.m. ET/PT - A new Mega Shark and a reawakened Kolossus go head to head. Stars: Illeana Douglas (Ghost World), Amy Rider (The Secret Life of the American Teenager), Brody Hutzler (Days of our Lives) and Tara Price (The Routine).

Syfy 2015 Summer Programming Schedule Revealed


Syfy continues to roll out an ambitious slate of original programming, with its Summer 2015 programming schedule announced today. The slate includes two new scripted series: Killjoys, from the producers of Orphan Black, and Dark Matter, from the writers of Stargate Atlantis. Also on tap are the new unscripted game show Geeks Who Drink, hosted and executive produced by Zachary Levi; and returning seasons of scripted originals Defiance and Dominion, as well as fan-favorite Face Off. And of course, it wouldn’t be summer without Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, which anchors Syfy’s second annual Sharknado Week this July.

JUNE

Syfy’s new 8-11 p.m. scripted programming block kicks off Friday, June 12 at 8 p.m. with the two-hour premiere of Defiance, followed by the debut of Dark Matter at 10 p.m.. On Friday, June 19, Killjoys joins the schedule, premiering at 9 p.m..

Syfy Original Movie Lake Placid vs. Anaconda premieres on Saturday, April 25 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The film stars Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street), Yancy Butler (Kick Ass) and Corin Nemec (Stargate SG-1).

A giant alligator goes head to head with a giant Anaconda. They're massive, aggressive, and about to have babies. The town sheriff must find a way to destroy the two monsters before they kill the whole town.

Syfy Greenlights Futuristic Espionage Thriller 'Incorporated'


Syfy announced today it has greenlit to pilot Incorporated, a futuristic espionage thriller from Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's Pearl Street Productions, CBS Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions. Set in a future where companies have unlimited power, Incorporated tells the story of executive Ben Larson, forced to change his identity in order to infiltrate a cut-throat corporate world, to save the woman he loves. In the process, he will take on the entire system - with deadly consequences.

Created by David and Alex Pastor (Selfless, The Last Days), who wrote and will direct the pilot, the dystopian future of the show reflects contemporary trends: the growing influence of corporations and private interests in Washington, the slow but steady dismantling of the public sector, and the increase of an amazing amount of wealth by an ever shrinking minority. Incorporated will explore these issues via suspense, action, complex characters and a dark sense of humor, plunging viewers into a future world where the ethical boundaries that we know have been completely redrawn.

'12 Monkeys' Renewed for Second Season by Syfy


Syfy announced today that the widely praised adventure thriller 12 Monkeys has been greenlit for a second season, expected to air in 2016.

With Natalie Chaidez prepping her next Syfy series (UCP and Valhalla Productions' Hunters), Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett (Nikita), co-executive producers and writers of the pilot, will be stepping up to serve as EP/Showrunners. Atlas Entertainment's Richard Suckle (Suicide Squad, American Hustle, The International) and Charles Roven (Suicide Squad, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, American Hustle) will continue to executive produce with Atlas' Jake Kurily producing. Roven served as producer on the original film.

Syfy Airing All-Day Marathon for '12 Monkeys' and 'Helix' on February 16


Syfy celebrates President's Day with back-to-back marathons of the critically acclaimed series 12 Monkeys and Helix on Monday, February 16 (President's Day) from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. ET/PT.

Fans will have a chance to watch or re-watch both series, which are both posting record L3 vs. L+SD lifts for Syfy original scripted series.

Syfy's 'Defiance' Commences Production on 13-Episode Third Season

Production has commenced in Toronto for the 13-episode third season of Syfy’s highly-rated Defiance, featuring new cast additions Lee Tergesen (The Americans) as military leader General Rahm Tak, Nichole Galicia (Django Unchained) as Kindzi and Conrad Coates (The Strain) as her father, T’evgin (both part of a new alien race known as the Omec). Produced by Universal Cable Productions, season two of Defiance delivered an average of 1.2 million viewers 18-49 and 2.7 million total viewers (based on Live +7 data).

Following the events of the season two cliffhanger finale, season three of Defiance opens on the eve of an impending military siege upon the town, which has fallen on hard times following the collapse of its lucrative mines. Their fate uncertain, the townspeople face further threat with the surprise arrival of the mysterious and nearly extinct Omec, an alien race of warriors marked by the decades of subjugation they imposed upon the galaxy in the years preceding the Pale Wars.

Ian Ziering and Tara Reid Will Return for 'Sharknado 3'

Syfy and The Asylum today announced that the original Sharknado survivors will return for the most epic shark attack yet! Ian Ziering and Tara Reid will reunite for the global pop culture sensation Sharknado 3, reprising their roles as Fin and April, respectively.

Anthony C. Ferrante will once again direct, based on an original screenplay by Thunder Levin.

Premiering on Syfy in July, Sharknado 3 will cause mass destruction in the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., than roar down the Eastern Seaboard.

When it aired last July 30, Sharknado 2: The Second One became Syfy’s most-watched Original Movie ever with 3.9 million total viewers.

Syfy to Develop '51st State' Drama Series from FOX 21 Television Studios

Syfy is developing a one-hour drama series about a futuristic prison society, 51st State, from Fox 21 Television Studios.

Oscar nominee Craig Borten (Dallas Buyers Club), who sold the pitch to Syfy, will write the pilot. Peter Chernin (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Katherine Pope (New Girl) and Borten will serve as executive producers.

As 51st State unfolds, the United States, confronting a prison population stretched to the limit, purchases Greenland and converts it into a frontier prison colony with male and female convicts incarcerated together.

Promised conditional freedom, the inmates are driven to the edge of their humanity when that promise, along with others, is broken. Struggling to seize control and exact revenge, reluctant heroes emerge -- but what exactly are they fighting for?

Julian McMahon and Daisy Betts Join Syfy Miniseries 'Childhood's End'

Syfy's has added two new cast members for its upcoming six-hour miniseries Childhood's End.

Golden Globe nominee Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck, Another world) will portray Rupert Boyce, an enigmatic American entrepreneur.

Daisy Betts (Shutter) has been cast as Ellie, an arts graduate engaged to marry Ricky Stormgren (Mike Vogel), the most influential human in the world.
