GH Co-Head Writer Shelly Altman Talks Jason's Memory Returning

Jason's memory comes back this week on General Hospital
On the May 9, 2016 episode of General Hospital, Jason (Billy Miller) is visited by images of Robin (Kimberly McCullough), Carly (Laura Wright), Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Sam (Kelly Monaco). It's during this episode that Jason's memories come flooding back to him.

General Hospital co-head writer Shelly Altman tells Soap Opera Digest, "Just because he gets his memories back doesn't mean that he is just going to go right back to the life that he had before he lost the memories," she teases. "He's lived, now, a couple of years, first as 'Jake', then knowing his name, but he has made new relationships, had new realizations, and so now, he is going to be a much more consummate human being, letting his past and present merge. And he will, as a result of this event, reconnect with some people from his past in a way he has yet to do."

'GH' Star Maurice Benard On The Corinthos Family: 'It is the best family on TV daytime or primetime'

General Hospital stars Maurice Benard (Sonny) and Laura Wright (Carly) recently sat down with Michael Fairman to discuss what is happening in the lives of Sonny and Carly in the fictional town of Port Charles.

One interesting nugget I came across in the interview, is how Benard and Wright view the importance of the Corinthos family on General Hospital.

Fairman first brought up the subject by stating, "It feels with head writers, Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman, that the Corinthos clan have become once again this core central family unit of the show."

Wright responded by saying, "As they should be!" Benard took it a step further and declared, "It is the best family on TV daytime or primetime … and a much better family than on Blue Bloods!"

What do you think General Hospital fans? Are Sonny and Carly the heads of the new core family on GH? And what does this mean for the show?

'General Hospital' Star Laura Wright Teams Up With ASPCA For 'We-Care' Campaign

Laura Wright and Fire.
When she's not busy being kidnapped, getting involved with inappropriate men, or suffering life-threatening accidents, actress Laura Wright—known for all these exploits and more as Carly Corinthos Jacks on ABC daytime soap opera General Hospital—is a devoted pet owner and animal lover at her home in Santa Ynez, California. In fact, she and her husband and children recently added a new four-legged member to the family: Fire, a border collie-German shepherd puppy, whom they fell in love with at Old Yeller Rescue Ranch in Los Olivos, California.

That's why Wright enthusiastically agreed to be part of a new campaign on behalf of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), the first animal welfare organization in North America and the nation’s leading voice for animals. More than two million supporters strong, the ASPCA is a national leader in the areas of anti-cruelty, community outreach and animal health services.

Starting June 17, Wright is serving as the face of a unique online partnership between ASPCA and we-care.com, a handy browser app that will donate a portion of shoppers’ online purchases from their favorite shopping destinations to the ASPCA at no extra cost to the shopper. Wright is encouraging the public to take the small step of signing up for we-care to help make a big difference for animals in need.
