Blake Berris Debuts as Spinelli Today on 'General Hospital'

Blake Berris steps in as Spinelli for Maxie & Nathan's wedding on General Hospital

Days of our Lives alum Blake Berris (ex-Nick) temporarily steps in for Bradford Anderson as Spinelli beginning today on General Hospital, and plans to mark the occasion on twitter.

Berris tweeted, "will live tweet my 1st appearance on @GeneralHospital tomorrow. excited to meet you all. #GH"

One person who is excited for Berris is the aforementioned Anderson, who replied, "Go get 'em pal!"

As previously reported, Anderson--who isn't on contract with GH-- backed out at the last minute to appear on Homeland, necessitating the surprise recast.

Welcome to General Hospital, Blake Berris! We will enjoy you for the short time we have you.

Update: Due to GH's national preemption on Friday, January 6, Berris will now first appear as Spinelli on Monday, January 16.

First Air Date Set For Tonja Walker on 'General Hospital'

Tonja Walker played Olivia Jerome on General Hospital from 1988 to 1990 and is returning to the ABC soap opera.

Although we don't know if she will be reprising her popular GH character, we do have a first air date for her.

Brytni Sarpy Off Contract at 'General Hospital'

Brytni Sarpy, who created the role of Valerie Spencer on General Hospital in March 2015, has been taken off contract and bumped to recurring at the soap.

This change of status is reflected by Sarpy no longer appearing with the other contract cast members during the closing credits of GH.

Kimberly McCullough Back to 'General Hospital'

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Kimberly McCullough will be reprising her role of Dr. Robin Scorpio Drake on General Hospital.

The actress first airs October 27. It's a short-term return.

McCullough told the mag, "I had some really intense scenes and it felt nice to call on some of those memories and history of Robin’s character.”

Actress Ashley Jones has returned to the General Hospital studio, where she will once again be playing Parker Forsyth.

Actress Jesica Ahlberg is on her way back to General Hospital as Darby Collette, according to the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest.

Will Darby try to sexually satisfy Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) again? If so, we can only hope it takes place off-screen!

Ahlberg returns July 15.

Return Date Set For 'General Hospital' Star Tequan Richmond

Tequan Richmond is finally back in business as TJ Ashford on General Hospital this week.

Richmond originally was set to appear on June 15, but due to GH's preemption on Friday, he will now return on the June 16 episode.

"My baby's back!" says Vinessa Antoine (Jordan) of her on-screen son.

She tells Soap Opera Digest, "We've got some really great scenes coming up that I can't wait for people to see."

Brooklyn Rae Silzer Back Again as Emma on 'General Hospital'

Finola Hughes Takes Break From 'General Hospital'

Actress Finola Hughes is taking a break from her mega-popular role of Anna Devane on General Hospital.

In the June 13, 2016 issue of Soap Opera Digest, the magazine reports that Hughes is taking a summer break and will be off-screen for much of the season.

Hughes took time off from General Hospital last summer to direct the movie The Byrd and the Bees, a movie that ultimately didn't get made for financial reasons.

Update: Hughes tells Digest, "It’s not long. We have a lot of downtime this summer [with breaks in the production hiatus], so I will only be away for a few weeks.”

Roger Howarth Signs New Contract With 'General Hospital'

Soap Opera Digest is reporting in their June 13, 2016 issue, that actor Roger Howarth will remain on General Hospital as Franco Baldwin.

Per the magazine, insiders are saying that Howarth has reupped his deal with the show.

This is great news for GH fans who have been hoping for sparks to fly between Franco and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst).

Tequan Richmond Back to 'General Hospital'

Tequan Richmond will soon return to his role of TJ Ashford on General Hospital, according to Soap Opera Digest.

A rep for GH tells the magazine, "We will see him again soon as his romance with Molly [Haley Pullos] heats up and family tensions mount."

Richmond is a sensational young actor, and the more we see of him the better!

Is Maxie Being Recast on 'General Hospital'?

Jamey Giddens from Daytime Confidential is reporting that popular actress Kirsten Storms may be taking a break from her role of Maxie Jones on General Hospital.

According to Giddens, former Days of our Lives actress Molly Burnett is being discussed as a fill-in for Storms. The recast would be temporary.

According to a report by Jamey Giddens from Daytime Confidential, One Life to Live alum Bree Williamson has snagged the role of Claudette on General Hospital.

Claudette is Nathan's (Ryan Paevey) ex-wife, who also may share a past with hunky Dr. Griffin Monro (Matt Cohen).

Tyler Christopher Replaced on 'General Hospital'?

According to a report by Jamey Giddens from Daytime Confidential, Tyler Christopher will soon vacate his role of Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital.

Soap vet Nick Stabile (Passions, Days of our Lives) will temporarily take over the role of Nikolas while Christopher takes time off from the role for personal reasons.

The switch is expected to be short-term. More news as it develops.

Robin Riker Joins the Cast of 'General Hospital'

Soap vet Robin Riker (Days of our Lives, The Bold and the Beautiful) has been cast as Hayden's (Rebecca Budig) mother Naomi Dreyfus on General Hospital.

When the casting call went out last month, the character was described as "Caucasian, 60-65. Strong presence, dynamic." The show was seeking "a well known 'name' actress."

Riker will debut in the recurring role on June 3.

Robin Mattson Returns to 'General Hospital'

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Robin Mattson is making a return visit to General Hospital as Heather Webber.

The veteran actress will share scenes with her on-screen son Franco (Roger Howarth) on May 11. Will she encourage Franco to embrace his dark side?

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Drew Cheetwood is returning as Milo on General Hospital. Cheetwood will be back on-screen in time for the Nurses' Ball.

'General Hospital' Casting Reminders

General Hospital has cast a couple of new characters that will be heading to Port Charles in the weeks ahead.

John DeLuca is joining GH in the recurring role of Aaron. He will first air on April 26.

Risa Dorken has been cast on General Hospital as Amy. Dorken will debut on May 4.

Amy is described as "a spunky new nurse who just can’t help herself from gossiping and putting her nose in other’s business.”

Amy sounds like someone we used to know.

'General Hospital' Finds Its New Jake
