Lifetime movie Mommy I Didn't Do It premieres Sunday, January 1 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The film stars Jen Lilley (ex-Theresa, Days of our Lives) Paige Searcy (Jade, Days of our Lives), Danica McKellar (The Wonder Years), Caroline Sunshine (Shake It Up), Jonathan Bennett (All My Children), Jamie-Lynn Sigler (The Sopranos), Jaleel White (Family Matters), and George Wendt (Cheers).

Seventeen-year old Julie Plainview (Searcy) is a typical teenager, rebellious and resentful of her single mother Ellen (McKellar) who works long hours to support them.

The morning after celebrating her high school graduation with her best friend, Sylvie (Sunshine), Julie is arrested for the murder of one of her teachers. Ellen (McKellar), who has limited experience in criminal law, takes on the daunting task of being her defense attorney.

Ellen reaches out for help from Ben Saverin, (Bennett) a crime novelist she met four years earlier when she herself was on trial for a murder she did not commit. The two shared a brief romance that was interrupted when all of Ellen’s time and attention was directed towards getting her law degree.

Ellen will have to draw on all her strength when she goes up against the detective (White) with a grudge against her, the victim’s wife (Sigler), who accuses Julie of having an affair with her husband and a prosecutor, (Lilley), who doesn’t like to lose.

Heather Tom (Katie, The Bold and the Beautiful), and Molly Burnett (ex-Melanie, Days of our Lives also star.

Mommy, I Didn’t Do It, is the sequel to McKellar's highly rated 2013 TV movie, The Wrong Woman.

Molly Burnett Returning to 'Days of our Lives' as Melanie Jonas (Spoilers)

Molly Burnett is returning to Days of our Lives.
Actress Molly Burnett is returning to NBC soap opera Days of our Lives as Melanie Jonas on Friday, November 21.

"I'm moving back to Salem," Melanie reveals to Maggie (Suzanne Rogers).

Melanie comes home after making a "big mistake" in Europe.

"She made a very typical Melanie mistake," Burnett explains in an interview with TV Guide Magazine. "I'm serious when I say she's grown and evolved but a person doesn't change too much. Maggie hasn't been there to smack her around. The people who really know her — Daniel, Maggie, Brady — are suspicious. They love her and trust her but something seems off. She's not lying to them to be conniving. She did some dumb things while she was away and doesn't want her loved ones to know. She really hates letting people down."

Watch a sneak peek of Melanie's return in the clip below:

Burnett has been nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards and one Indie Series Award during her career which includes roles in Addicts Anonymous, Empire, Venice, True Blood and Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Billy Flynn on 'Days of our Lives' and Taking on the Role of Bad Boy Chad DiMera

Days of our Lives star Billy Flynn.
Actor Billy Flynn has taken Days of our Lives by storm since he joined the NBC daytime drama as the new Chad DiMera earlier this month. In his first three weeks, Flynn has held his own with some of Days' biggest stars--Alison Sweeney (Samantha DiMera), James Scott (EJ DiMera), Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) and Eileen Davidson (Kristin DiMera). Sparks have also flown between his character and Abigail Deveraux (Kate Mansi), which does not seem to bode well for Abby's blossoming romance with Ben Rogers (Robert Scott Wilson). Chad may want revenge for sins of the past but love is still in the air.

Serial Scoop spoke with Flynn this week, and the talented newcomer discussed his sex symbol status, and what it was like to come on board as the new face of Days' DiMera family. He also shared his thoughts on Chad's love life, and told us why Abigail Deveraux, and not Melanie Jonas (Molly Burnett), was the love of Chad's life. Flynn also previewed what's coming up in the weeks ahead on Days. Read our exclusive interview below:

SERIAL SCOOP: You are the hot new sex symbol on Days. What do you think is your sexiest feature?
BILLY FLYNN: I have to go with my eyes. That's what everyone else is saying it is, so I’ll go with that.

SERIAL SCOOP: I have to go deep here. If you can’t pick your eyes, what other feature would you choose?
BILLY FLYNN: [Laughs] I don't know, I guess I don't find myself sexy. A lot of people probably don’t based on the Twitter comments I've gotten.
