Jen Lilley Confirms Her Departure From 'Days of our Lives'

Actress Jen Lilley has confirmed via instagram that she is leaving her role of Theresa Donovan on Days of our Lives

“It is with bittersweet sentiment that I find myself making this statement 6 months too soon. First, I would like to say your comments, support, and well wishes regarding my recent departure from the iconic daytime drama, Days of Our Lives, have melted my heart. Second, I have never enjoyed playing a character so much. I absolutely love Theresa, and the idea of not playing her pains me. I once found a quote that perfectly describes her, “She’s a mess of gorgeous chaos, you can see it in her eyes.” Exploring Theresa, from her insecurities to her strengths, from her tendency to deflect emotional anguish with comedy to her firecracker spirit has been pure joy.

Martha Madison Reveals Last Tape Date on 'Days of our Lives'

Martha Madson
Earlier this week, popular actress Martha Madison (Belle) confirmed on twitter that she had been let go from Days of our Lives.

She is now confirming her last tape date as well.

I had hoped that Belle and Shawn (Brandon Beemer) would receive a satisfying ending to their story, but it doesn't seem how that is possible with only two shows left to tape.

Martha and Brandon did extraordinary work with the material they were given, and both of their exits will be a huge loss to the show.

'Days of our Lives' Continues to Search For a New Abigail

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Days of our Lives has released a new breakdown for Abigail Deveraux, the role currently played by Kate Mansi. The popular actress has elected to leave the soap after five years in the role.

The casting call for Abby reveals,"She comes from a loving home, despite her father's lack of consistency in her life. Abigail looks innocent and young but can often seems more mature in essence than her 26 years because of the difficulties she’s experienced. She’s made plenty of mistakes in her life, but she tries to learn from them and has compassion for others. She’s fiercely loyal and protective of her family, and she has a spark and youthful joy that endears her to everyone she meets.”

Digest also reports that the casting sheet indicated the DAYS actors are on hiatus until April 4, but the show is still actively casting for the part, which would start taping at the end of April.

Celebrating the Renewal of 'Days of our Lives'

Celebrating with 'Days of our Lives'
 By Carolyn LeVine Topol

It has been a tense few weeks for fans as we learned there might be challenges at the negotiating table in regards to our beloved Days of our Lives. The cliffhanger in this real-life drama had fans wondering whether DAYS would see another day, or at least another year. Fortunately for fans, as with Mark Twain, reports of the demise of the 50-year soap were greatly exaggerated.

Although most of us will never know what happens behind closed doors at NBC/Sony, one thing is certain, there are sticking points in every contract negotiation. The same goes for a television show’s renewal. Many issues come into play—salaries, set budget, and ratings to name a few. One thing is certain—with only one daytime soap opera remaining on the NBC line-up, I would imagine the-powers-that-be would be hard-pressed to cancel.

Queen Latifah and Mary J. Blige Join Cast of NBC's 'The Wiz'

Mary J. Blige and Queen Latifah has been cast in "The Wiz Live!"
Queen Latifah and Mary J. Blige — multi-award winners, giants of the recording industry and stars of both the small and big screen — have been added to the cast of NBC’s upcoming holiday musical production of “The Wiz Live!,” set for Thursday, December 3.

Queen Latifah stars as the Wiz, the mysterious and powerful wizard who holds the keys to the Emerald City, but whose metamorphosis from ordinary to extraordinary is itself a hoax. She rose to her lofty position after being transported by accident to Oz in a hot air balloon during a snowstorm.

Mary J. Blige will play Evillene, the Wicked Witch of the West, who holds sway over the Winkies and the Winged Monkeys that do her bidding. She captures Dorothy and her friends to avenge the unintentional murder of her evil sister, Evvamean, and to get back the powerful silver slippers given to Dorothy by the Good Witch of the North.

The multi-talented Queen Latifah is a Golden Globe, Grammy and Screen Actors Guild Award winner, as well as having earned Emmy and Oscar nominations.
