Sharon Case on Her 'Y&R' Character Sharon: "She Doesn't Feel Responsible for What Happened to Sage."

This week on The Young and the Restless, Sharon struggles to keep the secret that Nick (Joshua Morrow) and his late wife Sage (Kelly Sullivan) are the biological parents of her son Sully. If she doesn't reveal the truth, is she doing it to save herself?

"It's about whose lives are going to change and maybe not for the better," Case tells Soap Opera Digest. "Sharon worries that the loss of a child would be devastating for Dylan. She knows from personal experience how awful it is. Faith would be going though it, too, because she thinks of Sully as Sharon and Dylan's child, so it would be hard for her to believe otherwise. Sharon is also thinking about Sully, because she is the only mother he knows. It would be very jarring for him to be taken away from her. Sharon is thinking about all of these complications, as well as the fallout, and she thinks that it's better to just stay quiet for now and leave things the way they are."

Kelly Sullivan Talks About Her Shocking 'The Young and the Restless' Departure

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, Kelly Sullivan (Sage) talks about her surprising exit from The Young and the Restless.

"I knew the story was going to eventually unravel and the truth would come out, and I was excited for that, but I didn't know how or when it was going to be written, until after it was written," Sullivan explains.

Sullivan understands how Sage's death gives the story greater emotional impact. "The writers knocked it out of the park. It was a beautiful end to a tragic and bittersweet story. Sage finally learns the truth and the way it all unfolded was really well done. I loved it when Sage learns that Sully was, in fact, her baby, Christian. Her only thought was to get him. She rushes to Sharon's and picks him up, looks into his eyes, and it all comes together for her in that one moment. Awesome. And of course, the immediate scenes where she confronts Sharon were incredibly well-written."

The actress enjoyed how Sage evolved. "I loved many things about Sage," the actress notes. "Her inner strength, her sense of humor, her fierce and undying love for her family, and all her flaws."

She is going to miss her job and friends at the studio. "There is so much love in that Y&R building," she smiles. "I miss them all terribly, and love them dearly! They are my friends and my family. I will miss all of the people that I came into contact with every single day I worked on YR. It is a very special thing to go to work and feel like you are part of a family. I will always treasure that. And they all know how I feel about them. I will definitely miss laughing with Joshua Morrow every day."

However, Sullivan is excited about what the future holds. "Many new projects are in the works!" she enthuses. "New and exciting things, indeed. Expect to see film collaborations with Robert Adamson (Noah) as well!"

'The Young and the Restless' star Joshua Morrow is happy with his latest story, but he is going to miss his co-star Kelly Sullivan [ex-Sage].

Morrow tells Soap Opera Digest, "I'm very sad that I don't get to work with Kelly Sullivan anymore because I absolutely love her. She was everything you'd want in a co-star. When I found out she was leaving, I was very depressed by it, although I can't deny that it really upped the dramatics of the story. I'll really miss Kelly. She's so professional and always came prepared, but she doesn't take herself too seriously. She really understood my sense of humor. Nick and Sage was a dream pairing for me because I just loved being around Kelly every day."

'The Young and the Restless' March 31 Sneak Peek: Shawn Goes Into Labor

Tomorrow on the March 31 episode of The Young and the Restless, Sharon (Sharon Case) calls Nick (Joshua Morrow) and tells him that Shawn (Devon Martinez) is in labor.

Meanwhile, Kevin (Greg Rikaart) and Natalie (Mara McCaffray) bond, and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) isn't happy about it.

The Young and the Restless - Do Sharon & Nick Have a Chance?

There are many couples on soap operas who are destined to be together no matter what obstacles they face. Some of these couples have demonstrated this by marrying, divorcing, reigniting the flame, and marrying each other repeatedly. The Young and the Restless is not immune to this pattern, and I, for one, am grateful.

When two young people bond, form friendships, and ultimately fall in love, especially during their teen years, it’s hard to resist routing for them. This concept goes back to feelings stirred by Romeo and Juliet — but we desire the happy ending Shakespeare didn’t afford us.

The Young and the Restless viewers will recognize the characters who make up the couple I’m eluding to — Nick Newman and Sharon Collins (Joshua Morrow and Sharon Case). These two captured our hearts as star-crossed lovers from opposite sides of the proverbial track. After finding one another, battling all odds to marry, and repeatedly facing seemingly insurmountable tragedies and obstacles, they succumbed to divorce.

Fortunately for Y&R fans, Nick and Sharon never seem to completely leave each other’s orbit. This is partially due to their need to co-parent their children, Noah and Faith (Robert Adamson and Alyvia Alyn Lind), and partly due to their undeniable attraction. The chemistry between these two actors permeates every scene they are in together. Thankfully, viewers have not had to endure any recasts for Nick or Sharon, adding to the apparent never-ending connection between the couple.

Recently, the Y&R audience has watched Sharon and Nick team up to solve the mystery of Dr. Sandy Anderson (Elizabeth Bogush). Working in tandem clearly brought the pair closer than they have been in a long time.

Even as Nick intends to proceed with a plan to adopt a child with his wife, Sage (Kelly Sullivan), we see him relying on Sharon for support. Sharon endorses Nick’s wonderful parenting skills to the prospective birth mother while inadvertently ignoring Sage’s attributes—the perfect example of a Freudian oversight.

Viewers recently got an added treat—during a terrible storm in Genoa City, Nick and Sharon were stranded in Sharon’s home and had to snuggle under blankets, in front of a roaring fire, to stay warm. Neither seemed to find this awkward, or inappropriate, until Sharon’s current husband, Dylan (Steve Burton) walked in, clearly taken aback by the intimate scene.

Recent trouble for Noah has brought Sharon and Nick even closer. The writing is not only on the wall, but a virtual billboard screaming for attention. Fans of Sharon and Nick, known by the portmanteau, “Shick”, appear destined for another go-round.

Can The Young and the Restless viewers hope Sharon and Nick will ultimately remarry? Only time will tell, but I’m counting on seeing this pair walk down the Genoa City aisle once again. Will it be the last time? That’s the million-dollar question. Sharon and Nick have many years ahead to sabotage their expected reunion. Let’s enjoy the moment, as we see these two slowly make their way back together… again.

Jennifer Gareis Making Another 'The Young and the Restless' Appearance in November

Jennifer Gareis will return to CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless in November as Nick Newman's naughty ex-lover, Grace Turner. The actress reprised the role in August when Nick (Joshua Morrow) spoke with the sexy Grace, Sharon's former best friend, hoping to get information about the day Sharon gave birth to Cassie (and Mariah). Gareis lit up the screen and won raves from viewers for the one-day visit, which likely prompted Y&R to bring her back again.

Gareis, who plays Donna Logan in The Bold and the Beautiful, will next appear on Y&R in the Thursday, November 13 episode.

Sharon and Nick, and a host of others, land in jail before their wedding.

Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case) are finally getting remarried on CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, but first they face some jail time. Leading up to their wedding, a bachelor/bachelorette party is thrown, and things clearly get out of hand. According to ET, 20 of our favorite Genoa City residents end up in jail, including the aforementioned Nick and Sharon (aka "Shick").

The raucous parties will take place September 30, and the wedding episodes will air October 3 and 6. Will Nick and Sharon find the happiness they are looking for? What will Phyllis do she she finally makes her return to Genoa City? Does she remember what happened the day she fell down the stairs? You will have to watch and find out!
