The CW 2015-2016 Schedule Revealed
The CW Network presented its 2015-16 broadcast schedule today to advertisers, affiliates and national media at New York City Center in New York City. The indie-pop band Of Monsters and Men kicked off the presentation with a live performance of their latest single “Crystals,” and their international hit song “Little Talks.”
“This has been a terrific season for The CW, and is a result of a strategy we set in motion a few years ago to broaden out and grow our audience,” said Pedowitz. “We had our most watched season, and our highest-rated season among men, in seven years. We launched The CW’s most watched series ever with THE FLASH, and with THE FLASH and JANE THE VIRGIN, we received more critical acclaim than ever before.
“The CW is heading into next season with incredible stability and strength, and continuing its strategy of adding more original programming all year long. Our new fall series CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND is original and hilarious, and will work as a perfect companion for JANE on Monday nights, while at midseason we have the much-anticipated DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, and the tense action of CONTAINMENT. These three new series are a terrific complement to our already strong schedule, and allow us to keep building on our momentum in 2015-16.”
The CW will launch its 2015-16 broadcast season in October, with premiere dates to be announced later.

The CW Network has picked up eight of its current series for the 2015-2016 season, it was announced by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW, during the network’s session at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena. In essence, The CW picked up all of the scripted series from its Fall 2014 schedule to next season.
“Each of these series have helped define what The CW is today, a network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy adult audience,” said Pedowitz. “By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season’s storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees The CW will have more proven original series for our fall, midseason and summer 2016 line-ups.”
The series being ordered for the 2015-2016 season include Arrow (Season 4), Jane The Virgin (Season 2), Reign (Season 3), Supernatural (Season 11), The 100 (Season 3), The Flash (Season 2), The Originals (Season 3) and The Vampire Diaries (Season 7).

Charlotte Ross To Guest Star on 'Arrow'
Emily Bett Rickards, Charlotte Ross |
Ross, whose credits also include Nashville, NYPD Blue and Glee, is slated to appear in at least one episode in early November. Details on Felicity's mother — including her name and whether she'll appear in flashback or present day — are being kept heavily guarded.
Arrow is planning a series of Felicity-centric flashbacks that the producers call "the secret origin of Felicity Smoak."
"We are absolutely going to get to know her," executive producer Marc Guggenheim recently said. "We know that she went to MIT, we know that her mom was a cocktail waitress in Vegas and we're going to meet that mom. And we also know that her dad is not in the picture."
It was revealed at Comic-Con that the Felicity-centric episode would be titled "Oracle."
Arrow returns for its third season on Wednesday, October 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

NEWS BRIEF: Lindsey McKeon, Matt Davis, Diversity on Fall Schedule, John Barrowman, Ilene Chaiken, Sherri Saum & Kamar de los Reyes Welcome Twins
* Supernatural post-mortem: Lindsey McKeon dishes on Tessa's shocking decision. "Nothing seems worse to her than what she’s dealing with right now. She sees the opportunity — [she] wanted to take her own life in the auditorium — [and] now here's the First Blade and this is the chance to do it."
* Matt Davis is returning to The Vampire Diaries as series regular for Season 6. As everyone raced to save the Other Side on Thursday's season finale, a few familiar faces, including Lexi (Arielle Kebbel) and Alaric, returned. But while Lexi was sucked up into the atmosphere, Alaric was left standing alongside his friends.
* All 24 new TV series for Fall 2014, in order of how fast they'll be cancelled. NCIS: New Orleans and How to Get Away with Murder are predicted to run the longest.
* In TV's new reality, diversity is just good business. The major broadcast networks announced what was the most racially diverse broadcast schedule in a long time–maybe ever, depending how you measure it. It wasn’t just about “black best friends” this year; there are several new and returning shows with minority lead characters, several of them minority women. The trend was spread across networks–though ABC had an especially diverse lineup–and across groups: not only African American but Hispanic and Asian American actors will lead casts next season.
* The L Word creator Ilene Chaiken has joined FOX's newly picked up series Empire as executive producer and showrunner.
* Tribune CEO Peter Liguori is not pleased with The CW's performance. He believes the network "should not program to [young] people who don’t watch television."
* John Barrowman to become Arrow series regular in Season 3.
* The Fosters' Sherri Saum and One Life to Live's Kamar de los Reyes welcome twin boys, John Rubén and Michael Luís.
* SundanceTV is developing a modern Rip Van Winkle drama. Crack in the Sky centers on a Don Draper-type who falls asleep in 1962 and wakes up in 2012.
* The West Wing oral history: 9 things you didn't know or forgot. Wonder Years' Danica McKellar would eventually get the role of Will Bailey’s stepsister in season 4.
* Will web series The Dreamers return for a second season? Creator and star Kelsey Jorissen says, "After my cast read episode 12 of the dreamers, they told me that Kara deserved a second season. I think that all of the characters deserve it."

The CW 2014 Fall Schedule
The CW Network presented its 2014-15 broadcast schedule today to advertisers, affiliates and national media at New York City Center in New York City.

"We just finished our most-watched season in three years, and our schedule is as strong as it has ever been, with more vibrant and more diverse programming. Next season, with super hero action shows like "Arrow" and "The Flash," epic fantasies like "The Vampire Diaries" and "Reign," the apocalyptic worlds of "The Messengers" and "The 100," and the outrageous comedy of "Jane the Virgin" and "Whose Line Is It Anyway?," we will build and expand our audience even more, and keep our momentum going with the kind of high-octane, high-impact entertainment that our viewers love."
The CW will launch its fall season in October 2014, with premiere dates to be announced at a later time.
