'La Doña' Premieres January 13 on Telemundo


The new season of La Doña premieres Monday, January 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Telemundo. Shot in Mexico and Brazil, this season marks the return of superstar Aracely Arámbula in her iconic role of Altagracia Sandoval, joined by a star-studded cast including Carlos Ponce, David Zepeda, Maricela González, Kika Edgar and Danna Paola.

The electrifying and action-packed drama picks up two years after the first season finale when everyone thought La Doña was dead, but she was far from it. Now, Altagracia Sandoval is back stronger than ever, focused on taking back what belongs to her and seeking revenge against those who wronged her and her loved ones. Many tragic events will impact Altagracia upon her return, but nothing will stop her from seeking her own justice.

The stellar cast is completed by José María Galeano, Eric del Castillo, Patricia Reyes Spíndola, Alejandra Barros, Paola Fernández, José Sefami, Andrea Martí, Fernanda Borches, Leo Deluglio, Diego Soldano, Simone Victoria, Claudio Roca, Mayra Sierra, Alexa Martin, Alberto Casanova, Agustín Arguello, Leandro Lima, Bernardo Flores, Rafael Ernesto, Diego Escalona, Aquiles Cervantes, Christian Ramos, Juan P. Tostitos is introducing Botanas Del Cielo, the “spiciest” telenovela in history, directed by renowned film director and producer Pedro Pablo Ybarra. The new web series offers the passion and flare of traditional Mexican-style telenovelas with a spicy twist — chips, dips and salsa!

'My Life Is a Telenovela' Docu-Series Coming To WE tv

My Life Is a Telenovela will premiere later this year on WE tv.
WE tv has ordered a new docu-series, My Life is a Telenovela, focused on the real characters who bring life to this enormously popular television genre. Set in Miami, and produced by Matador, the series will follow a group of beautiful and fierce Latina actresses and actors working in this hyper-competitive world, which has captivated hundreds of millions of viewers.

"WE tv is a network that was really built on diversity, bringing viewers personalities and programming it has historically been hard to find on the mainstream dial, and this show continues that commitment to new faces and voices," said Marc Juris, WE tv president. "We are so excited to bring this world and the passionate men and women who make these incredibly popular soap operas to our viewers, and proud of a strategic partnership with Telemundo that will bring a high level of credibility and authenticity to our show."

WE tv has ordered eight 60-minute episodes, which will premiere later this year. As the series begins, several of our characters are vying for the same role in a real life telenovela being produced by Telemundo, resulting in drama and fireworks on both sides of the camera.

The show features a variety of telenovela stars including Raquenel, Sissi Fleitas, Gustavo Pedraza, Enrique Sapene and Liliana Gonzalez.

Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse premieres August 25 on Univision.
Univision Network's latest telenovela Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse (Italian Girl Comes to Wed) takes viewers to Italy in one of this year’s most romantic love stories about a beautiful and heroic Italian girl who accepts a marriage proposal far from her native land in order to save her dying sister, knowing that this decision will change her life forever. Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse premieres Tuesday, August 25 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

The story unfolds in a little town in Italy where Fiorella, played by Livia Brito, briefly meets the love of her life Pedro Angeles (Jose Ron) for the first time. But tragedy unfolds as Fiorella loses her father (Ricardo Blume) and becomes her sister’s caretaker. Upon his death, an old friend of his in Mexico, an important restaurateur named Vitorrio Dragone (Enrique Rocha), asks Fiorella for her hand in marriage and promises to take on expenses for her sister’s medical care. As he is considerably older than his young bride, Vittorio sends her a photo of him as a young man. Out of necessity and encouraged by the prospect of marrying a good man, Fiorella accepts.

The drama continues as the two sisters travel to Mexico and after many failed attempts, they get lost and do not get to meet Vittorio. After unfortunate events, they finally arrive at the ranch of the prominent Angeles family where Fiorella meets again the man of her dreams Pedro Angeles, who also falls in love with her. This is also where she meets his ambitious family who is embroiled in maintaining their wealth, built on crime and mystery.

Although there are vast differences in social classes between them, the two lovers are determined to fight any obstacles in their way. However, Vittorio, who never ceased his search for the beautiful Fiorella, is still determined to marry her. Tune in to see the story of these two young lovers who will stop at nothing to find their happily ever after.

'Bajo El Mismo Cielo' To Premiere July 28 on Telemundo

Bajo El Mismo Cielo will premiere Tuesday, July 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Telemundo.

Starring Gabriel Porras, Maria Elisa Camargo, Luis Ernesto Franco and Julio Bracho, Bajo El Mismo Cielo is the story of Carlos Martinez (Porras), a relentless hard working Mexican immigrant who crosses the border illegally and settles with his family in Los Angeles, where he starts working as a landscaper. Carlos dreams of giving his children a better opportunity and strives to offer them the opportunities he never had in Mexico.

Bajo El Mismo Cielo features a stellar cast that includes Erika De La Rosa, Alejandro Speitzer, Liz Gallardo, Mercedes Molto, Fernando Noriega, Kendra Santacruz, Ximena Ayala, Raul Arrieta, Keller Worthman, Jose Guillermo Cortines, Oka Guiner, Rosalinda Rodriguez, Andres Zúñiga, Freddy Flores, Ahrid Hannaley, Alma Itzel, Kevin Aponte, among others; each one will bring the characters of this heart-wrenching story to life.

The theme song of the telenovela comes from acclaimed Mexican-American band Las Cafeteras, with "La Bamba Rebelde," a fresh take on the traditional track that celebrates Chicano pride. The Los Angeles-based group is known for its eclectic musical style that mixes rhythms from Veracruz with hip-hop, infused by Native American influences and powerful social lyrics.

4th Premios Tu Mundo Nominees to be Announced July 23

Nominees for the fourth Premios Tu Mundo will be revealed on July 23.
Telemundo has partnered with Facebook to announce the nominees for the fourth annual Premios Tu Mundo (Your World Awards) live from the set of its Un Nuevo Dia morning show, and from Facebook's Miami office, on Thursday, July 23 at 8 a.m. ET.

Scheduled to participate is Un Nuevo Día's Adamari Lopez, Ana Maria Canseco, Rashel Díaz, Daniel Sarcos and Diego Schoening, plus special guests including Gaby Espino.

The 4th edition of the awards celebration, which honors actors, singers and TV moments as voted by fans through a selection process that combines the power of television, web, mobile and social media platforms will broadcast live on Thursday, August 20th at 8 p.m. ET, from the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida.

'Celia' Coming to Telemundo This Fall


New drama series Celia is coming this fall on Telemundo, inspired by the life of Úrsula Hilaria Celia Caridad Cruz Alfonso, better known as Celia Cruz, one of the most iconic musical figures of our times. The legendary Cuban singer brought audiences to their feet with the irresistible beat of her music and obtained international stardom due to her unique style, voice, passion and unforgettable charm.

Scheduled to premiere this fall, Celia narrates the life and musical legacy of a woman who launched her career in the middle of the Cuban revolution, in an era when female singers didn’t have a place on a stage. The stellar cast of Celia features actors Jeimy Osorio and Modesto Lacén who give life to Celia Cruz and Pedro Knight during their younger years. Telemundo Enters Multi-Year Agreement With Estudios TeleMéxico


Telemundo and Estudios TeleMéxico announced today a multi-year agreement through which Estudios TeleMéxico will produce primetime series and novelas for Telemundo in the U.S. Telemundo's international division, Telemundo Internacional, will distribute the series worldwide.

“We are very proud to partner with Estudios TeleMéxico to produce novelas and our signature Super Series,” said Luis Silberwasser, President, Telemundo Network. “This agreement will strengthen our primetime offerings to continue providing our international clients with the superior product they have come to expect from Telemundo.”

"For TeleMéxico Studios and Fox Telecolombia, this is the culmination of the longtime desire for us to establish a production partnership with Telemundo, one of the major U.S. Networks, which is at the forefront of production and entertainment in the media industry around the world. We are confident with our experience in the creation and development of substantial series and super series, where we have been pioneers in Latin America, and are excited to put that ‘know how’ to serve Telemundo’s primetime series," said Samuel Duque Rozo, CEO and President of Fox Telecolombia and TeleMéxico Studios.

As part of the agreement, Estudios TeleMéxico will produce the series in México or Colombia in collaboration with Telemundo Studios.

Univision Network Outperformed CBS Last Week Among Young Adults 18-34


For the week of March 2-8, 2015, Univision Network ranked No. 4 in primetime among Young Adults 18-34, outperforming CBS. Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks every night among Young Adults 18-34.

Versus the same week last year, Univision saw growth among Total Viewers 2+ (+11%), Adults 18-49 (+6%) and Young Adults 18-34 (+7%).

Mi Corazón es Tuyo (My Heart is Yours) finished third among Young Adults 18-34 in the Monday-Friday 8 p.m. time period, outperforming CBS and FOX. The novela averaged 3.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.8 million Adults 18-49 and 842,000 Young Adults 18-34.

Airing Monday to Friday 9-10 p.m., Hasta el fin del mundo (Until the End of Time) finished No. 4 among Young Adults 18-34, outperforming CBS, and averaging 3.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.6 million Adults 18-49 and 713,000 Young Adults 18-34.

At 10 p.m., Que Te Perdone Dios (Let God Forgive You) was No. 1 among Young Adults 18-34 for the second time since its premiere week (1/19/15). The novela averaged 2.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.3 million Adults 18-49 and 577,000 Young Adults 18-34.

mun2 Becomes NBC Universo on Sunday, February 1


NBCUniversals Hispanic cable network mun2 transitions to become NBC Universo – the company's modern general entertainment cable channel for Latinos – on Sunday, February 1, the day it airs the exclusive Spanish-language telecast of Super Bowl XLIX. NBC Universo viewers who subscribe to DIRECTV will be able to view all of the network’s programming – including Super Bowl XLIX – in HD, as the satellite provider will offer HD carriage of the channel beginning today, Jan. 30. DIRECTV is the first Pay TV provider to offer NBC Universo in HD, and the network continues to have conversations with all of its distributor partners.

NBC Universo is also announcing new programming beginning on February 1, and through the winter and spring seasons.

'Dueños del Paraiso' Has Telemundo’s Most-Watched Premiere Ever

Telemundo's Dueños del Paraiso (Masters of Paradise) premiere reached a cumulative audience of 3,080,000 total viewers and 1,880,000 adults 18 to 49 on premiere night, according to Nielsen. Starring Kate del Castillo as Anastasia Cardona, the series averaged 2,392,000 total viewers and 1,444,000 adults 18 to 49. The Dueños del Paraiso premiere became Telemundo's highest premiere in its history among total viewers and was the #1 Spanish-language program, in its time period, among adults 18 to 34, women 18 to 34 and males 18 to 34. Additionally, the Super Series outperformed ABC’s Forever among adults 18 to 49 and adults 18 to 34, and CBS’ Person of Interest among adults 18 to 34.

Dueños del Paraiso exemplifies Telemundo’s super series concept – scripted drama series that are edgier, action packed and faster paced than traditional novelas.

Locally, the much anticipated premiere ranked #1 among adults 18 to 49, regardless of language, in Los Angeles and Miami and was the #1 Spanish-language program in its time period in Chicago, San Francisco and Denver, in that same demo.

'Señora Acero' Finale Hits Series Ratings High Averaging 2.8 Million Viewers

Telemundo novela Señora Acero ended on a ratings high.
Telemundo's highly rated super series Señora Acero ended on a season high, averaging 2,764,000 total viewers and 1,587,000 adults 18 to 49 during its finale night on Monday, according to Nielsen. Starring Blanca Soto in her Telemundo debut, the finale ranked as the #1 Spanish-language program, among total viewers and adults 18 to 49, in its time period; and was the #1 program, regardless of language, among males 18 to 49 and adults 18 to 34. The finale was also the #1 telecast in prime time, regardless of language, among males 18 to 34. The original series outperformed its closest competitor during 14 out of its 16 week run, among adults 18 to 49.

Señora Acero exemplifies Telemundo's super series concept – scripted drama series that are edgier, action packed and faster pace than traditional novelas.

On Tuesday, the cast of Telemundo's new super series Dueños del Paraíso attended a private screening of the first episode at the Colony Theater in Miami Beach, FL.

Dueños Del Paraíso tells the story of Anastasia Cardona (Kate del Castillo), a woman without a trace of innocence and a past marked by poverty and violence. Fueled by ambition and a desire for deep revenge, she uses drug trafficking to become one of the most powerful women of her times.

Telenovelas are short-run Spanish-language soap operas that have captured hearts and TV screens around the world. First produced in Mexico and Latin America, over the last few years South Florida has become the new home base for production of this TV genre, and Miami has earned the nickname, “Telenovela Tinseltown,” as aspiring stars descend upon the city in the hopes of making it big.

2014 International Emmy Awards: 'El Señor de los Cielos' Wins First-Ever Emmy For Non-English Language U.S. Primetime Program


On Monday night, Telemundo's original telenovela El Señor de los Cielos won the first-ever Emmy award given in the category of Non-English Language U.S. Primetime Program at the 42nd edition of the International Emmy Awards held in New York City.

'Tierra de Reyes' Premieres December 2 on Telemundo

Telemundo's new novela Tierra de Reyes will premieres on Tuesday, December 2 at 9 p.m. ET. The intense melodrama, starring Aarón Díaz, Ana Lorena Sánchez, Gonzalo García Vivanco, Kimberly Dos Ramos, Christian de la Campa and Scarlet Gruber, alongside Fabián Ríos and Sonya Smith, is based on an original story by Julio Jiménez (El Cuerpo del Deseo and Pasión de Gavilanes) adapted by Rossana Negrín (Mi Gorda Bella). Filmed in Miami and Houston, “Tierra de Reyes” features Luis Manzo and Ricardo Schwarz as co-directors and Carmen Urbaneja as executive producer.

Tierra de Reyes tells the story of three brothers who seek revenge on the family they hold responsible for the tragic and mysterious death of their younger sister. Arturo (Aarón Díaz), Flavio (Gonzalo García Vivanco) and Samuel Reyes (Christian de la Campa), are three brothers who in search for the truth, decide to win the hearts of the beautiful daughters of wealthy hacienda owner Ignacio Del Junco (Ricardo Chavez), the man they suspect of causing their sister’s death. 'Queen of the South' Pilot Picked Up By USA Network, Based on 'La Reina Del Sur'


USA Network has announced the pilot pick-up of the drama series Queen of the South, from Fox Television Studios, to be executive produced by M.A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller (The Final Girls), along with David Friendly (Little Miss Sunshine, Big Mommas House) and Pancho Mansfield (Damien). The pilot is written by Fortin and Miller.
