Kimberly McCullough Talks 'General Hospital' Return

Kimberly McCullough
Kimberly McCullough is returning to General Hospital as Robin Scorpio, and the popular actress couldn't be happier.

McCullough tells Soap Opera Digest, "A few weeks ago, I texted Frank [Valentini, executive producer] just to check in, and I shared the news with him that I am directing another episode of Pretty Little Liars. He was congratulatory, and then said, 'So, are you available?' I said, 'Yeah, I'm available until the end of May, when I shoot PLL.' He was like, 'Okay, great!' And then the next day, I got an email with the dates [he wanted me to shoot GH]. I was like, 'Oh, cool! You actually meant it!' I didn't know he was serious!"

The actress was unaware that her return had to do with the Nurses' Ball "They totally tricked me!" she teases. "After I said yes, they said, 'Okay, great, we're going to use you for the Nurses' Ball.' I was like, 'Oh, man! Let me get this straight: I have to wear heels and I probably have to do a speech and I may or may not have to do a dance routine? These are all things you probably should have mentioned to me!' But it's fine. I wish I could say I know exactly what I'm doing, but I don't. I just know that I'll appear at the ball and probably make a speech. I would love it if I could appear with Brooklyn [Rae Silzer, Emma], although I don't know if that will be the case."

Robin hasn't been at the Ball for years. "I honestly can't remember the last one that I went to," she marvels. "The Nurses' Ball [became a big deal] because of Stone, "Robin's first love, who lost his life to Aids in 1995, "so it's nice that I actually get to show up."

"Robin has been HIV-positive since 1995 and she's healthy and she has a healthy daughter. I've never gotten to make that speech: 'I'm alive, I'm healthy.' It's something to be celebrated, for sure, that we've made so much progress and people [with HIV] are living such long lives. It's amazing. I'm excited; I know this is going to be a lot of fun."

The Nurses' Ball begins May 24.

ABC Family Summer 2015 Schedule (and Beyond)

Tom Ascheim, President, ABC Family, announce at its network upfront on Tuesday in New York that ABC Family was doubling-down on the life stage that has made it a leading voice in entertainment for W18-34, W18-49, F12-34 and a top five network with adults, in addition to having the most socially engaged audience. The network identified and coined the term ‘Becomers’ to describe people in this life stage. Traditionally, Becomers are in high school, college and the decade that follows and are navigating the wonderful, fun, exciting, and scary time in life when you experience the most firsts – first car, first apartment, first job, first love, first heartbreak – all the firsts that exists between who they are and who they want to become. Becomers are 69 million strong in the US, with an estimated spending power in the trillions.

“We are renewing our focus on an especially vibrant and important part of the consuming public, whom we have named ‘Becomers,’ and are committing to this life stage rather than to a generation,“ said Ascheim. Becomers are exploring and establishing who they are becoming – personally, professionally and romantically -- they live in that magical and messy place between their first kiss and their first kid. We are doubling our commitment to original programming and will serve their modern media habits with gusto by reconceiving our WATCH ABC Family app as a marriage of content and fandom that will make it a vital part of their viewing habit.”

When Mona's friend Lesli shows up in town, Hanna is tasked to get her back story and find out if Lesli is really who she says she is. Are the girls wise to keep an eye on everyone, or can they allow a bit of comfort room without worrying it is an "A" trap?

Meanwhile, Aria becomes concerned about Mike's (Cody Christian) recent behavior and Holbrook (Sean Faris) returns to town.
