'The Young and the Restless' Star Justin Hartley: "It’s the best job I have ever had. I’m very happy.”

Justin Hartley
The Young and the Restless star Justin Hartley (Adam Newman) is featured in the April issue of Watch! Magazine.

“Justin is a gifted actor,” says Angelica McDaniel, head of daytime for CBS Entertainment. “We knew he would bring a fresh perspective to Adam Newman, and his energy and talent have quickly made him not only a fan favorite, but also an important addition to our cast.”

“I think [Adam] is going to find himself with every single thing he ever wanted—and I think he is going to find himself caught in a lie,” Hartley says. “I don’t think he thinks he is a bad boy. Adam is the smartest guy in the room … so he thinks. Something always implodes on him, and it’s usually brought on by himself. He’s a lover and a fighter—skewed 60/40 one way or another at any given time. He leads with his heart, his fist and his brain.”

“At the risk of making my co-stars angry, I think Adam is the best role on television right now,” says Hartley. “On paper, Adam is a perfect character; my plan was to shift it to where I wanted it. A good role is a good role—I don’t care if it’s on a stage, on daytime or prime time, it doesn’t matter. It’s the best job I have ever had. I’m very happy.”

'The Young and the Restless': The Real Reason David Tom Was Replaced as Billy Abbott

Melissa Claire Egan and Burgess Jenkins as Chelsea and Billy
Actor Burgess Jenkins recently debuted as the new Billy Abbott on the CBS Daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless. Jenkins replaced David Tom, who replaced Billy Miller in the role earlier this year. On Monday's Y&R, Billy and Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) had sex. Both Jenkins and Egan were on full display showcasing their toned bodies. Would Y&R have shot that scene in a similar way with David Tom in the role? Is Burgess Jenkins' chest more important than the character he is playing?
