EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Brittany Underwood on Playing Bad, and a 'One Life to Live' Reunion on 'Youthful Daze'

Left: Brittany Underwood. Right: Sarah Hester, Mike C. Manning and Brittany Underwood.
Actress Brittany Underwood is well-known for a memorable six-year stint as Langston Wilde on daytime drama One Life to Live, as well as her role as Lauren Tate in primetime soap opera Hollywood Heights. She guest stars on ABC's The Goldbergs on Wednesday, October 22 as Jill Rubin.

Underwood has also joined the cast of another serialized drama, hit web series Youthful Daze, as Sheila Edmundson, a character bound to cause heaps of trouble for anyone who crosses her path.

Serial Scoop spoke with Underwood about her new character, the One Life to Live reunion taking place on the set of Youthful Daze (David Gregory and Nic Robuck will soon arrive on the canvas), how her Youthful Daze executive producer Bryan James is different than her former executive producers Frank Valentini and Jill Farren Phelps, and to find out if she too will be joining The Young and the Restless, as several of her former Hollywood Heights co-stars have. Read our exclusive interview below:

SERIAL SCOOP: It’s a One life to Live reunion on Youthful Daze.
BRITTANY UNDERWOOD: I know. I know. I was very excited about that. It’s so funny because Nic (Robuck, who played James on One Life to Live) was asking me what I was doing as he was seeing all of my tweets about Youthful Daze and he was curious, as a lot of my actor friends are.  I told Bryan James I have friends that are curious and it’s really exciting and how Nic Robuck from One Life to Live was asking me about it.  A few days later Bryan came back and asked, "What if we had Nic on the show? He could be this…" I was like oh my god, that’s so amazing, and that would be so much fun. I love Nic and getting to act with him. It's really fun.

Web Series Weekend: Help Make 'Pretty' The Series Season 4 Happen!

Another Web Series Weekend is here, and it's the perfect time to support one of the best ever. Steve Silverman's brilliant comedy Pretty won six Indie Series Awards, and countless other honors, during its first three seasons. Two years after what seemed like the end, Pretty has shot a fourth season, a "re-imagining" of the show, featuring original stars Stacy McQueen and Dee Freeman, as well as new cast additions such as DeVanity's Michael Caruso and Fumbling Thru the Pieces' Diane Delano. This could be epic! But the show needs our help.

Additional funding is needed for things like editing the episodes, color correcting, final audio mixing, Symphony video mixing for green screen, promotions and publicity. The goal is $4,444 and Pretty is nearly at 70% of its goal with 7 days left.  So close!  There are many campaigns on Kickstarter, IndieGoGo and other crowd-funding websites for all kinds of projects, but they would be hard-pressed to match the talent and dedication behind this one.

After that, she fell in love with acting and averaged six indie films a semester. In addition to acting, she is also a talented singer, dancer and comedian, performing in many improv casts, including the Upright Citizens Brigade.

Web Series Weekend: Billy and Michael Weigh in 'Derek and Cameron'

In Branden Blinn's indie web series Derek and Cameron, 26-year-old Derek (Thomas H. Adisi) has never had sex with a man, thought about men sexually, or fantasized about them in any sexual or romantic way. But he now finds himself ensconced and in love with one. Cameron (Brandon Crowder) on the other hand is an avid athlete, former high school and college jock, outgoing, politically active, outspoken gay man who has been out to everyone around him, proudly, since he was 15. Cameron's biggest political statement is he can't imagine why any gay man would demonstrate anything as low in self esteem as chasing after straight men until he himself finds himself in love with one. Derek and Cameron tells the story of this unconventional couple and their extended friends and families.

In this week's new episode, "Billy," Cameron turns to his friends for advice about his relationship, including the obnoxious Billy (Eric Colton) who has less than encouraging feedback, such as "I give it another month." Luckily, his buddy Michael (Jordan Jones) tells him the relationship with Cameron is the "real deal" and advises him to join Cameron in therapy.
