Hulu Signs Multi-Year Licensing Agreement For FX Series Including 'Tyrant,' 'The Strain' and 'Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll'

Hulu has closed a deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution for the exclusive subscription video on demand rights to new and upcoming FX and FXX primetime comedy, drama and miniseries in a new, multi-year agreement for FX Networks' series produced or co-produced by FX Productions (FXP).

The deal will make Hulu the subscription video on-demand (SVOD) home to the largest selection of FX Networks content available through tablets, smartphones, gaming platforms and other internet-connected devices. Current season FX Networks series will remain available via the FXNOW app to authenticated subscribers through their MVPD provider.

'Wayward Pines' To Premiere May 14 on FOX

FOX has announced a global premiere for the 10-episode, intense psychological thriller Wayward Pines. The highly anticipated event series, based on a best-selling novel and brought to life by suspenseful storyteller M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Signs) and executive-produced by Shyamalan, Donald De Line, Chad Hodge and Ashwin Rajan, will debut Thursday, May 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FOX, while also debuting simultaneously in more than 125 countries across Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe and Latin America. The global Wayward Pines debut will be the world's largest day-and-date launch for a scripted series ever.

The series stars Academy Award nominee Matt Dillon (Crash) as a Secret Service agent on a mission to find two missing federal agents in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, ID. In addition to Dillon, the stellar cast includes Academy and Emmy Award winner Melissa Leo (The Fighter), Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard (Crash, Hustle & Flow), Carla Gugino (Entourage), Shannyn Sossamon (How to Make It in America), Toby Jones (Infamous), Reed Diamond (24), Tim Griffin (Prime Suspect), Charlie Tahan (Charlie St. Cloud), Academy Award and Emmy Award nominee Juliette Lewis (Cape Fear) and and Hope Davis (Allegiance, In Treatment).
