NBC Sets Premieres Dates for 'Allegiance,' 'A.D.,' 'Odyssey' and 'The Slap'


NBC has announced premiere dates for its burgeoning midseason schedule — dramas The Blacklist, Allegiance, Night Shift, A.D. and Odyssey, event series The Slap, and comedies One Big Happy and Undateable.

As previously announced, Emmy Award winner James Spader and The Blacklist will return to the NBC schedule on Super Bowl Sunday, February 1, immediately following the game. The series then shifts to its new timeslot beginning Thursday, February 5 at 9 p.m.

The Blacklist will serve as a lead-in to the new spy thriller Allegiance from writer-director George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau). Allegiance will air Thursdays at 10 p.m. beginning February 5.

'The Night Shift' Generates Biggest Audience Since Premiere

Renewed for a second season by NBC yesterday, The Night Shift (1.5/5 in 18-49, 7.2 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 1) jumped versus last week by +25% in 18-49 rating (to a 1.5 from a 1.2) and by +21% or 1.2 million persons in total viewers (7.164 million vs. 5.921 million). The Night Shift won the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key measure. Night Shift was the #2 show of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49, behind only America's Got Talent.

The Night Shift delivered its top 18-49 rating since June 10 (1.5) and matched its highest rating since the show premiered May 27 (1.6). In total viewers, Night Shift generated its biggest overall audience (7.164 million) since the May 27 debut (7.669 million).

In its sixth week, The Night Shift is still retaining 94% of its premiere 1.6 in 18-49 on May 27, which was NBC's top summer drama debut in five years (since The Philanthropist, June 24, 2009).

NBC Renews 'The Night Shift' for a Second Season

NBC has renewed medical drama The Night Shift for a 14-episode second season.

In averages from Nielsen Media Research through June 29, The Night Shift is the #1 new scripted series on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox so far this summer in adults 18-49 and total viewers.

In total viewers, The Night Shift is the #4 show of the summer on those networks with 7.9 million persons.

The series stars Eoin Macken, Ken Leung, Brendan Fehr, Jill Flint, Robert Bailey Jr., Jeananne Goossen, JR Lemon, Daniella Alonso and Freddy Rodriguez.

The Night Shift is produced by Sony Pictures Television Inc. Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah serve as executive producers and writers.
