POP TV Announces It Is Dropping 'Days of our Lives' From its Schedule

Pop TV announced last night during its airing of Days of our Lives, that it has dropped the soap from their schedule.

Jamey Giddens from Daytime Confidential reached out to Pop's publicist for comment. "That is correct. DAYS will no longer be on the Pop schedule. We are encouraging fans to view on NBC, NBC.com or the NBC app."

DAYS will be replaced by repeats of That 70's Show. Days began its run on Pop TV on August 24, 2015.

Whipclip Teams Up with Pop to Offer Fans Easy Access to Create and Share Clips


Whipclip, the free mobile app that allows fans to legally create and share their own video clips of television shows and music videos, and Pop, the television destination that celebrates the fun of being a fan, will team up to offer fans the seamless ability to create and share video clips from Pop’s original programming.

The partnership kicks off this Sunday, April 26 with: The 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards hosted by Tyra Banks, airing live at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT; and Queens of Drama, a reality series packed with girl power and fan-favorite soap stars Lindsay Hartley, Crystal Hunt, Vanessa Marcil, Chrystee Pharris and Hunter Tylo with appearances by Donna Mills and Joan Collins series, premiering immediately following the Daytime Emmy Awards at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. Using Whipclip, viewers can create customized clips of their favorite moments from both shows and share them instantly on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest and via email and SMS.

More Daytime Emmys Presenters Revealed


More stars of daytime television, including Tom Bergeron, Eileen Davidson, Kevin Frazier, Leeza Gibbons, Vicki Lawrence and Mario Lopez, are scheduled to present at the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards airing live on Pop on Sunday April 26 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Also slated to present during the awards show are talent from the following shows:

· The Talk - Hosts of the Daytime Emmy nominated talk show, including Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood

· Queens of Drama - Soap stars Donna Mills, Lindsay Hartley, Crystal Hunt and Chrystee Pharris of Pop's new original reality series, which premieres immediately following the Daytime Emmy Awards

· The FAB Life - Co-hosts the new lifestyle chat show launching this Fall, including Chrissy Teigen, Joe Zee, Lauren Makk and Leah Ashley; Tyra Banks, host of "The FAB Life," was previously announced as host of The 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards

As a special tribute to the fans of daytime television, the Daytime Emmy Awards will feature most notable TV moments and characters voted on by fans, including Most Romantic Duo, Favorite Daytime Hottie, Favorite Talk Show Audience, Favorite OMG! Moment and Favorite Game Show Moment. The awards broadcast also promises to bring many more surprises and star appearances, including a reunion of two soap star legends.

Previously announced awards presenters include Regis Philbin, Steve Harvey, Marie Osmond, Craig Ferguson, Deidre Hall, Nancy O'Dell, Shemar Moore and Alex Trebek, in addition to cast members from the four daytime soaps, including Daniel Goddard, Justin Hartley and Melissa Claire Egan of The Young and The Restless; Kirsten Storms and Ryan Paevey of General Hospital; Christopher Sean, Freddie Smith and Guy Wilson of Days of Our Lives; and Jacob Young, Karla Mosley and Linsey Godfrey of The Bold and the Beautiful.

The 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast during the 2014 calendar year. This year's Lifetime Achievement Award will honor television icon Betty White.

The 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards show on Pop will be executive produced by Michael Levitt of Michael Levitt Productions with Gary Tellalian and Mike Rothman also serving as executive producers.

Review: 'Queens of Drama' Is Must-Watch Soapy Goodness

Queens of Drama premieres Sunday, April 26, at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on Pop, immediately following the network's exclusive live broadcast of the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Queens of Drama is a 10 episode series that features six former daytime and primetime soap stars taking control of their careers to produce and star in a new serialized drama.

The all-star cast includes Lindsay Hartley (All My Children, Days Of Our Lives), Crystal Hunt (Guiding Light, One Life To Live), Vanessa Marcil (Las Vegas, General Hospital), Chrystee Pharris (Passions, General Hospital) and Hunter Tylo (The Bold and The Beautiful), with special appearances by Donna Mills (Knots Landing, Melrose Place). Joan Collins (Dynasty, Guiding Light) guest stars.

Based on the first three episodes, Queens of Drama is entertaining, absorbing, and offers plenty of drama to live up to the show's title. Each member of the cast is playing a version of themselves so perfectly drawn in this soft-scripted reality series that it's easy to follow the story, invest in the "characters" and instantly care about whether or not these women will be able to put together a show of their own. And who will lead them.

42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards Presenters Announced


Some of the biggest and brightest stars of daytime television are scheduled to present at the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards airing live on Pop on Sunday April 26 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

The line-up of presenters will include Regis Philbin, Steve Harvey, Marie Osmond, Craig Ferguson, Deidre Hall, Nancy O'Dell, Shemar Moore and Alex Trebek. Also presenting are cast members from the four daytime soaps, including Daniel Goddard, Justin Hartley and Melissa Claire Egan of The Young and The Restless; Kirsten Storms and Ryan Paevey of General Hospital; Christopher Sean, Freddie Smith and Guy Wilson of Days of our Lives; and Jacob Young, Karla Mosley and Linsey Godfrey of The Bold and the Beautiful. Pop Announces 2015-2016 Original Programming and Development Slate


Pop, the network that celebrates the fun of being a fan, announced today its original programming and development slate for the 2015-2016 Upfront season, including more than 300 hours of original programming that will premiere this year. The network's schedule includes 11 new and returning original series and specials, as well as new projects in development with top industry producers, including Gail Berman and Nigel Lythgoe, John Legend's Get Lifted Film Co., Morgan Spurlock's Warrior Poets, Left/Right Productions and Lionsgate.

"We are heading into the upfront season with a fresh, uniquely positioned media brand covering the landscape of what's popping in culture and an original programming slate driven by enthusiastic content and award-winning talent," said Brad Schwartz, President of Pop. 'Queens of Drama' Premieres Sunday, April 26 After Daytime Emmys on Pop

Girl power reigns supreme as six former daytime and primetime soap stars take control of their careers to produce and star in a new serialized drama, in the series premiere of Queens of Drama on Pop, Sunday, April 26, at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT, immediately following the network’s exclusive live broadcast of the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

Following its premiere, Queens of Drama will begin airing in its regularly scheduled time slot on Wednesdays, (8:00-8:30 p.m. ET/PT) starting April 29.

Queens of Drama features a powerful, all-star cast of soap’s leading ladies, while tapping into the sensibility of female empowerment, taking charge and having it all,” said Paul Adler, Senior Vice President, Programming, Pop. “We’re excited to give fans a new perspective of these women with a reality series that debuts immediately following Pop’s exclusive live broadcast of the Daytime Emmys.”

Pop to Become First Television Network to Launch Its Website on Tumblr


Pop (currently known as TVGN), a network celebrating the fun of being a fan, will become the first television network to develop and launch its primary digital voice with its web destination on Tumblr, the social platform driven by a highly engaged fan community with more than 150 million monthly unique users in the U.S.

Pop's new site – Poptv.com – will go live on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015 to coincide with Pop's on-air launch of the new network. The website will reflect Pop's brand and new original programming, serving as the network's official online destination and creating shareable content on the things popping in fan culture. Poptv.com will fuse the sharing features available through Tumblr platforms with traditional website assets, ensuring that television network site staples such as channel finders and programming schedules are blended with shareable GIFs, memes, user-generated content such as fan art and more.

Pop Launches on January 14 with New Kids on the Block


TVGN today announced that it will rebrand as Pop across its distribution of 80 million homes on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. The CBS/Lionsgate joint venture, currently known as TVGN, will embrace a new on-air look and creative design to accompany its new brand promise – celebrating the fun of being a fan.

'Dynasty' Legend Joan Collins to Guest Star in 'Queens of Drama'

Dynasty legend Joan Collins will guest star on an upcoming episode of Pop's new series Queens of Drama, according to The Wrap.

Queens of Drama is a docu-series featuring daytime and primetime soaps stars as they attempt to produce a new primetime serial drama to star in. The cast will need to work in front of and behind the cameras as they develop, pitch, and produce this new steamy series hoping to land a pilot deal by the end of the season.

The all-star cast includes Lindsay Hartley (All My Children, Days Of Our Lives), Crystal Hunt (Guiding Light, One Life To Live), Vanessa Marcil (Beverly Hills, 90210, General Hospital), Chrystee Pharris (Passions, General Hospital) and Hunter Tylo (The Bold and The Beautiful). Mills, an alum of Knots Landing and Melrose Place currently starring in General Hospital, will make special appearances on the program.

The show is produced by Thinkfactory Media, with Adam Reed, Adam Freeman, Aaron Fishman, Tim Laurie, and Leslie Greif, serving as executive producers.

Along with Pop's other new series, Queens of Drama will premiere when TV Guide Network rebrands to its new name and programming lineup in early 2015.

POP, a new network which announced its rebranding last month from TVGN as a place to celebrate the fun of being a fan, will premiere more than 400 hours of fan-fueled original programming next year, including six new original series, an exclusive after-show, live red carpet specials during the awards season, and a curated lineup of television fan-favorites.

From the producers of Hatfields & McCoys and Gene Simmons Family Jewels comes new docu-series Queens of Drama follows a group of former daytime and primetime soap stars as they attempt to produce a new primetime serial drama to star in. The cast will need to work in front of and behind the cameras as they develop, pitch, and produce this new steamy series hoping to land a pilot deal by the end of the season.
