'Doctor Who' Season 9 Trailer Released

Exploding with epic and thrilling adventures, Doctor Who returns to BBC America on Saturday, September 19 in the new season of the hit show.

The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) is joined by Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) for time travel on a cinematic scale. Having the time of their lives, the pair meet new and old monsters, and go on a journey that takes them to deadly alien planets, creepy underwater bases, Vikings villages, a global Zygon uprising, and leads them through hidden alien dens, to the very end of time itself.

Meeting monsters old and new the Doctor will come face to face with Missy (Michelle Gomez), a city of Daleks, deadly mercenaries called the Mire, terrifying ghosts and more.

Having filmed in Cardiff since January, Peter Capaldi said:

“Soaring through all of time and space, series nine sees the Doctor throw himself into life with a new hunger for adventure. The Cosmos is there for the taking, thrilling, epic and enticing, and his to play in. But he’s almost reckless in his abandon. It’s almost like he’s running from something, something that if it ever catches him will turn his life upside down.”

New Retro TV Affiliates Coming Soon in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Tampa, Seattle, Denver, Sacramento, Austin, Oklahoma City & Amarillo

Back-to-back episodes of The Doctors air weekdays starting at 12 p.m. ET on Retro TV.
Luken Communications has reached a multi-station, multi-network affiliation agreement with Mako Communications, LLC. The deal encompasses Mako stations in 23 markets, including seven in the top 10 designated market areas (DMAs). The new affiliates will be distributed between Luken's Retro TV (home of The Doctors and Doctor Who) and Rev'n networks with a scheduled launch of December 1, 2014.

With the added Mako affiliations, Retro TV's distribution footprint will increase to nearly 78 million homes, covering 68 percent of the U.S. New markets include New York, Chicago, Seattle and Tampa, among others. Retro TV will reach a total of 87 designated market areas, including 39 of the current top 50 DMAs.

James Corden Named Host of 'The Late Late Show'

CBS announced today that James Corden will be the new host of The Late Late Show. Corden – a multi-faceted performer, host, writer and producer with accomplishments that span television, theater, film and comedy – will take the reins of the daily late night show in 2015.

The 36-year-old Corden comes to American late night television with a growing list of award-winning and critically acclaimed credits. He is a Tony Award-winning performer on Broadway, a BAFTA-winning star of a UK television series, a feature film actor with two releases this year, and an acclaimed host, writer and producer in several genres of television.

Currently, Corden is starring opposite Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo in Begin Again, which is in theaters now, and will star opposite Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp and Emily Blunt in the highly anticipated feature film Into the Woods, which hits theaters in December. Additionally, Corden hosts the BAFTA Award-winning UK sports-themed comedy game show “A League of Their Own” on Sky 1 and stars in, produces and writes the BAFTA nominated comedy thriller “The Wrong Mans,” which is available on Hulu and airs on the BBC.

'Doctor Who' Had Highest Rated Season Premiere Ever on BBC America

The new era of Doctor Who began with the highest rated season premiere ever on BBC America. The US embraced award winning actor Peter Capaldi's first full episode as the Doctor, delivering 2.58 million total viewers Live+SD Cume*. From 8-10 p.m., Doctor Who ranked as the #1 program in all of cable among total viewers and A25-54. BBC America was the #1 network and Doctor Who was the #1 show in all of television on Twitter and Tumblr for the day. Over 1 million total viewers Live+SD Cume* tuned in for BBC America's new eight part paranormal thriller, Intruders, which helped deliver BBC America its highest rated Saturday night ever.

BBC America Announces Special Programming and Nationwide Theatrical Events to Launch 'Doctor Who's' First Season Starring Peter Capaldi

It's a new beginning for the iconic series that explores all of space and time, as award-winning actor Peter Capaldi takes on the role of the mysterious time traveler, the Doctor. BBC America will launch Peter Capaldi's first season of Doctor Who with special programming on the channel and theatrical events across the country with Fathom Events. The new season of Doctor Who premieres Saturday, August 23, 8 p.m. ET on BBC America.

Comedian and Doctor Who superfan Chris Hardwick will host Doctor Who: Live Pre-Show at 7:30 p.m. ET and Doctor Who: After Who Live at 11 p.m. ET following the premiere of Intruders on August 23. The pre-show and post-show will feature an array of guests in the studio including writer and actor Mark Gatiss along with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage.

BBC Investigating 'Doctor Who' Security Issue That Allowed Five Season 8 Scripts to Leak Online

BBC Worldwide made a statement on Monday after five scripts from Season 8 leaked online. Read it below:

BBC Worldwide is currently investigating a security issue around Doctor Who Series 8 where unfinished material has inadvertently been made public. We deeply regret this and apologize to all the show's fans, the BBC and the cast and crew who have worked tirelessly making the series.

We would like to make a plea to anyone who might have any of this material and spoilers associated with it not to share it with a wider audience so that everyone can enjoy the show as it should be seen when it launches. We know only too well that Doctor Who fans are the best in the world and we thank them for their help with this and their continued loyalty.

'Doctor Who' Returns to BBC America August 23

BBC America has announced the premiere date for the eighth season of Doctor Who. The feature-length episode, entitled "Deep Breath," will air Saturday, August 23 at 8 p.m. ET. The episode ushers in an exciting new era for the show as Peter Capaldi (The Musketeers, The Thick of It) steps into the role of the Doctor. Fans first got a glimpse of Capaldi's Doctor in November's 50th Anniversary Special, and again in the final minutes of last year's Christmas Special, but the upcoming season premiere marks the first full episode for the Twelfth Doctor.

Capaldi will be joined by Jenna Coleman (Death Comes to Pemberley), who returns as companion Clara Oswald, and Samuel Anderson (History Boys, Gavin & Stacey) who joins the cast as Danny Pink, a teacher at Coal Hill School where Clara also works. Previously announced guest stars include Ben Miller (Primeval, Death in Paradise), Keeley Hawes (Line of Duty, Upstairs, Downstairs), and Tom Riley (Da Vinci's Demons).

Leading up to the premiere, Capaldi and Coleman will appear together in the United States for the first time when they arrive in New York on Thursday, August 14 as part of the first ever Doctor Who World Tour. The largest promotional undertaking in the show's 50-year history, the tour will kick off in Cardiff, Wales before heading to London, Seoul, Sydney, New York, Mexico City, and Rio de Janeiro.

Doctor Who Is Back on the Big Screen for One Night Only - June 16 and David Tennant Narrates the Premiere of 'Wings 3D' on June 17

BBC Worldwide North America and Fathom Events announce the celebration of Emmy Award-winning actor David Tennant ("Broadchurch," "Fright Night") in a two-night special theatrical screening event all for the price of one ticket. See David Tennant on the big screen as the Tenth Doctor in the epic two-part Doctor Who story "Rise of the Cybermen/The Age of Steel" on June 16 at 7:30 p.m. local time with never-before-seen bonus content from Tennant himself. The next night, experience the earth from a bird's eye view in "Wings 3D" narrated by David Tennant on June 17 at 7:30 p.m. local time in RealD(TM) 3D.

Tickets for "Doctor Who Cybermen + Wings 3D" are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com to the public beginning May 15. The event will be presented in 620 select movie theaters around the country through Fathom's Digital Broadcast Network.
