Mad Men actor Jon Hamm came back to hometown St. Louis to be honored before Monday's baseball game at Busch Stadium between the Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds.
Before the festivities, Hamm addressed the recent unrest in Ferguson that has occurred since Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson shot and killed Michael Brown on August 9. Since then, the municipality has been hit with clashes between police and protesters.
"There is no positive spin to this," Hamm said. "And no one is blameless. I hope when all the facts come out and the light has been shone on all of it, then justice will be served."
Hamm noted that he spent a substantial part of his youth in north St. Louis County.
"I grew up in Normandy, I used to ride my bike through Ferguson," said Hamm, who graduated from John Burroughs High School.
"I know there's a lot of good people there, more than there are bad. But the bad ones make all the noise," he said.
Noted in Hollywood for his wearing of Cardinals and Blues gear, Hamm said he loves St. Louis.
"I lived in so many parts of it when I was here: North Side, Creve Coeur, Normandy. And then when I came back from college, I lived in U. City and Valley Park. My experiences here have shown me there are great people in St. Louis. If anyone can pull this together, we can."
