LMN acquired The Night Stalker, starring Golden Globe® nominee Lou Diamond Phillips (Longmire) and Critic’s Choice Award winner Bellamy Young (Scandal), and will premiere the film on Sunday, June 12 at 8pm ET/PT. Based on the book of the same name by Philip Carlo, the movie will compete at the New American Cinema competition at the Seattle International Film Festival on June 4th.

Known to many as the "Night Stalker," Richard Ramirez was a cruel and prolific serial killer who murdered 14 people and terrorized Los Angeles in the summer of 1985. Though Ramirez was ultimately convicted of these atrocities and remained on death row for nearly 30 years, suspicion loomed of him having committed additional crimes.

The Night Stalker tells the story of Kit (Young), an attorney who travels to San Quentin on an impossible mission to clear the name of Harrison Johnson (Hawthorne James, Seven), a death row inmate in Texas whom she believes has been wrongly accused of murders perpetrated by Ramirez (Phillips).

Kit lived in Los Angeles during the fear-tinged summer where Ramirez terrified its citizens and confronting him dredges up old and frightening memories of her own past. As the days count down to the Texas man's execution, Kit confronts Ramirez about his unspeakable crimes in search of an elusive confession, plunging into intense psychological depths in her quest for the truth.

The Night Stalker is produced by Laboratory Productions and MRB Productions. Producers are Alisa Tager (Enemy at the Gates, Serenity) and Matthew R. Brady (The Truth about Emanuel, Grassroots). The film was written and directed by Megan Griffiths (Lucky Them, Eden), an award-winning writer and director whose previous films have screened at Toronto Film Festival, Sundance, South by Southwest and Tribeca. Griffiths is represented by William Morris Endeavor and Untitled Entertainment.
