'Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce' Premieres Tonight on Bravo

Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce premieres Tuesday, December 2 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.

The hourlong series follows Abby McCarthy (played by Lisa Edelstein), a newly single self-help book author, who embarks on the next chapter of her life and finds herself seeking advice from her divorced friends Lyla (Janeane Garofalo) and Phoebe (Beau Garrett).

Necar Zadegan (Emily Owens, MD, 24) stars as Delia, a divorce attorney at Lyla's firm. Paul Adelstein plays Abby's husband Jake. Rounding out the cast are Patrick Heusinger (Royal Pains) as Abby's brother Max, J. August Richards (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Angel) as Max's husband Ford, C. Thomas Howell (Criminal Minds, The Outsiders) as Abby's love interest Nate, Julianna Guill (Crazy, Stupid, Love) as Jake's 23-year old girlfriend Becca, Michael Weaver (The Joe Schmo Show) as Lyla's ex-husband Dan and Charles Mesure (Desperate Housewives) as Phoebe's ex Ralf.

Bernadette Peters To Guest Star In Bravo Media's 'Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce'

Bernadette Peters will guest star in Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce.
Three time Tony Award-winning actress Bernadette Peters will guest star in an upcoming episode of Bravo Media’s first original scripted series Girlfriends'’ Guide to Divorce, from Universal Cable Productions (UCP). Peters will play Lyla's mother Annie, who comes to town to help her with the kids. Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, premiering Tuesday, December 2 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, follows Abby (Lisa Edelstein, House), whose career and marriage implode in one very public moment and she finds herself turning to her new divorced friends Lyla (Janeane Garofalo, Reality Bites) and Phoebe (Beau Garrett, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior) as she navigates life back on the singles scene.

Laverne Cox Tapped to Guest Star in Bravo's 'Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce'

Laverne Cox (Orange is the New Black) has been tapped to guest star in Bravo's first original scripted series Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce, from Universal Cable Productions (UCP), that will premiere later this year. Cox will play Adele Northrop, a Pulitzer-Prize winning war journalist and LGBT activist who presents an award at a marriage equality gala. Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce stars Lisa Edelstein (House) as Abby McCarthy, a self-help book author who hides the fact that she's separated from her husband as she starts to navigate her life as a single woman in her early 40s.

A critically acclaimed actress, producer, speaker and advocate, Cox can currently be seen in Orange is The New Black in the ground breaking role of Sophia Burset, an incarcerated African American, transgender woman. Cox has accomplished many firsts as a trans woman of color, from playing a leading role on a mainstream scripted television show, to producing and starring in her own television show to appearing on an American reality show. Her work as an actress and advocate landed her many accolades including the cover of TIME Magazine, multiple GLAAD Awards, the Dorian Rising Star Award, among others. This fall Laverne will executive produce and host Trans Teen: The Documentary and is also working on a documentary titled Free CeCe.

'Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce' Begins Production

Production commences today in Vancouver on Bravo's first original scripted series Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce, starring Lisa Edelstein. The series follows Abby, a newly single self-help book author, who embarks on the next chapter of her life and finds herself seeking advice from her divorced friends Lyla, played by Janeane Garofalo and Phoebe, played by Beau Garrett.
