Official Cast List for New 'Twin Peaks' Released

Twin Peaks will premiere in 2017 on Showtime
Principal photography has concluded on the highly-anticipated new Twin Peaks for Showtime. And today, the network, David Lynch and Mark Frost revealed a key piece of the mystery: the official cast of the series. Written and produced by series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost, the new Twin Peaks is directed entirely by David Lynch, and will premiere on Showtime in 2017, on-air, on demand and over the internet.

One of the most groundbreaking and influential television series of all time, the new Showtime series picks up twenty-five years after the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town were stunned when their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered.

The list below includes the 217 cast members appearing in the new Twin Peaks, including Golden Globe winner and Emmy Award nominee Kyle MacLachlan, who returns as FBI Agent Dale Cooper. Those who have previously appeared in the Twin Peaks world have been asterisked.

"Twin Peaks without David Lynch is like…??" (Video)


Original Twin Peaks stars Sherilyn Fenn, Sheryl Lee, Mädchen Amick, Dana Ashbrook, Peggy Lipton, James Marshall, Al Strobel, Kimmy Robertson and more have come together in an effort to persuade creator David Lynch to come back to the production after reports this week that he had quit the reboot after a money dispute with Showtime.

In the video below, each of the stars is seen finishing the sentence, "Twin Peaks without David Lynch is like..."

'Twin Peaks' Returning in 2016 as a Showtime Limited Series


The groundbreaking television phenomenon Twin Peaks, which ran on ABC from 1990-1991, will return as a new limited series on Showtime in 2016.

Series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost will write and produce all nine episodes of the limited series, and Lynch will direct every episode.

Twin Peaks will go into production in 2015 to air on the network in 2016, marking the 25th anniversary of when the program last aired. Set in the present day, Twin Peaks will continue the lore of the original series, providing long-awaited answers for the series' passionate fan base. The announcement was made today by David Nevins, President, Showtime Networks Inc.

"What more can I say - Twin Peaks with David Lynch and Mark Frost on Showtime in 2016!" said Nevins. "To quote Agent Cooper, 'I have no idea where this will lead us, but I have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange.'"

Lynch and Frost added: "The mysterious and special world of Twin Peaks is pulling us back. We're very excited. May the forest be with you."

Set in the present day, Twin Peaks will continue the lore of the original series, providing long-awaited answers and a satisfying conclusion for the series' passionate fan base.

In the series finale, Laura Palmer tells Agent Cooper in the Red Room, "I'll see you again in 25 years." Could that actually happen?

'Twin Peaks' Returning? David Lynch and Mark Frost Hint Online


Could the cult TV series Twin Peaks be making a comeback?

Rumors about the return of the Twin Peaks, which aired on ABC from 1990 to 1991, circulate regularly but thanks to a couple of cryptic tweets we might actually be seeing Agent Cooper and gang back on the scene.

On Friday, David Lynch and Mark Frost, creators of the original Twin Peaks series, hinted cryptically that fans could be in for a treat.

Lynch and Frost each tweeted the identical message: "Dear Twitter Friends: That gum you like is going to come back in style! #damngoodcoffee"
