Disney has released the first trailer for its upcoming film adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim-James Lapine musical
Into the Woods, which will hit theaters December 25. Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Johnny Depp and Emily Blunt are among the stars.
Rob Marshall (
Chicago, Disney's
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) directs the film, based on the Tony-winning original musical by James Lapine, who also penned the screenplay, and composer Sondheim, who provides music and lyrics.
