The annual "Day of Days" event was held on Saturday, November 14 at Universal Citywalk. Mandy Lynn Denaux covered the event for Serial Scoop and chatted with the cast of Days of our Lives about the 50th anniversary of the iconic soap opera, and much more. Kate Mansi–who plays Abigail Deveraux–shared her thoughts on her character Abigail Deveraux and the positives of social media.

Read our interview below:

SERIAL SCOOP: I know you can’t talk about current storyline, but if you can summarize what you have been doing the last three to six months in one word, what would it be?
KATE MANSI: That’s a great question. Ask me the question again.

SERIAL SCOOP: If you could summarize what Abby’s been up to the last three to six months, that we have not seen yet, in one word.
KATE MANSI: Oh, I see what you did there. I’m glad I asked you to say it again. Frayed.

SERIAL SCOOP: What’s been the biggest shift for you with the new writers, and new production team?
KATE MANSI: I think I have been really lucky. Josh Griffith is so gifted and Dena [Higley], we have such a great writing team. I feel incredibly lucky. Those cabin scenes have been the most challenging and amazing scenes I have ever done. I don’t mean to credit me, but they wrote them in such a twisted way that they forced both of us [points to Robert Scott Wilson] to elevate our craft, and I am so grateful for that.

SERIAL SCOOP: If you could play any other character…
KATE MANSI: I love this question!

SERIAL SCOOP: Regardless of age or gender…
KATE MANSI: I always say Lauren Koslow [who plays Kate Roberts] but now I would say Andre [DiMera, played by Thaao Penghlis].

SERIAL SCOOP: Let’s talk about social media.
KATE MANSI: Love it.

SERIAL SCOOP: How has that changed your experience?
KATE MANSI: I majored in Public Relations at Pepperdine University and it (social media) is something I am totally down for. I love it. It’s great, and brings out so many opportunities as well. I am doing a campaign right now for breast cancer, and we’ve had some amazing fans donate money just because they heard about it that way. I did one for Charity Water. They raised over $10,000 two years ago and gave water to two villages just because of social media. It’s an incredible opportunity and sort of an untapped niche that people are still figuring out. I think it is an amazing way to interact with fans.
