El Rey Network has released key art and an extended trailer for their highly anticipated spy thriller Matador premiering July 15th at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The new adrenaline-filled series from the writer/producer of Mission Impossible 3, Transformers, Star Trek and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, stars Gabriel Luna (NCIS: Los Angeles, Prison Break) in the title role of Tony "Matador" Bravo; Alfred Molina (The Da Vinci Code, Spider Man 2) , Nicky Whelan (Left Behind, Chosen, The Wedding Ringer) and Neil Hopkins (Bones, True Blood).Matador chronicles the unlikely rise of Tony "Matador" Bravo (Luna), a professional soccer player for the LA Riot who comes to be known as much for his antics off the field as his moves on it. But what his fans and family don't realize is that it's all a cover—in truth, he is a skilled covert operative executing missions for the CIA. The series serves as the second scripted original to air on filmmaker Robert Rodriguez's new, English-language entertainment network. Rodriguez directed the series premiere penned by showrunners, co-creators and executive producers Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin.
