Soap Opera Best of the Week (May 12-16, 2014)

It was an exciting week in the world of daytime soap operas. General Hospital's Nurses Ball ended but not before Ronn Moss performed with his band, Player, and Lucy Coe's (Lynn Herring) affair with Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) was revealed to the world. That set up an showdown for the ages between Lucy and Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman). On The Bold and the Beautiful, Aly Forrester (Ashley Pearce) and Taylor Hayes (Hunter Tylo) revisited Darla's death, and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) became engaged. Days of our Lives featured the fallout of Nick Fallon's murder, while The Young and the Restless focused on Sharon Newman's (Sharon Case) secret and Neil Winters' (Kristoff St. John) romance with Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan).

Serial Scoop Rankings (May 12-16, 2014):
1. General Hospital
2. The Bold and the Beautiful
3. Days of our Lives
4. The Young and the Restless

Rebecca Herbst and Tyler Christopher
Performer of the Week: Rebecca Herbst as Elizabeth Webber on General Hospital

Herbst was brilliant in her scenes opposite Tyler christopher's Nikolas Cassadine, explaining why their history proves they will never be ready for each other at the same time.

Line of the Week: Bobbie and Lucy on General Hospital

Bobbie: "You got exactly what you deserve 'cause you couldn't keep your legs crossed.
Lucy: [Chuckles] "Well, at least I never got paid for it."

Couple of the Week: Brooke & Bill on The Bold and the Beautiful

Two people that actually love and support each other, and don't judge each other? How refreshing. Will Brooke remember this when she finds out about Bill and Quinn (Rena Sofer)? Who knows, but for this week these two were tops.

Clifftwister of the Week: Lucy and Scott's affair exposed on General Hospital

Lucy in her skivvies was totally expected at the Nurses Ball, but being exposed on stage while kissing Scott Baldwin?  It was a revelation that set up battles between friends and old enemies, and gave us some of the best GH scenes of 2014.

Special Awards This Week

Best Use of History: Aly versus Taylor on The Bold and the Beautiful

In an unexpected turn, The Bold and the Beautiful's Aly Forrester went from picking
up an axe out of disgust for Taylor Hayes to sharing a hug of forgiveness. Along the way, both characters were able to get some much-needed face-to-face time discussing what happened the night Darla (Schae Harrison) was killed.  Kudos to Ashlyn Pearce and Hunter Tylo for their performances.

Best Sex: Julian and Alexis on General Hospital

Once Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) finally stopped talking and let Julian (William deVry) drop his pants, it was on.

Best Catfight: Lucy versus Bobbie on General Hospital

This one got ugly. Even Annie Logan's name got dragged into it before Felicia (Kristina Wagner) finally broke it up.

Best Rivalry: Quinn versus Liam on The Bold and the Beautiful

Quinn just couldn't stop herself from deleting Liam's (Scott Clifton) message to Hope (Kim Matula) about meeting in the steam room. Instead, Quinn showed up, locked Liam inside, and turned the temperature up to 135 degrees.

Best Surprise: Spencer hires Player to perform at the Nurses Ball

In a week of plot twists and cliffhangers, nothing was more unexpected than young Spencer (Nicolas J.Bechtel) hiring Player to sing for Emma at the Nurses Ball. And Spencer even has their latest album! The "Who is Ronn Moss playing on GH?" question was finally answered. Ronn Moss played Ronn Moss!
