'Outlander' Mid-Season Finale Airs Tonight on Starz

The mid-season finale of Outlander airs on Saturday, September 27.

The first half of Outlander Season 1 concludes on Saturday, September 27 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The mid-season finale finds Frank (Tobias Menzies) desperately searching for his missing wife, while Claire tries to come to terms with her new marriage to Jamie. Claire is faced with an emotional quandary as a life-altering opportunity presents itself.

'Outlander' Renewed for Second Season by Starz

Starz Chief Executive Officer, Chris Albrecht, announced today that Starz has once again partnered with Sony Pictures Television to greenlight a second season of Outlander, the critically-acclaimed original series adapted from Diana Gabaldon's international bestselling books. Season Two will be at least 13-episodes and based upon the second of eight books in the "Outlander" series, entitled "Dragonfly in Amber."

The first 16-episode season of Outlander, filmed on location in Scotland, debuted on August 9th, 2014 at 9 p.m. PT/ET, with the first episode setting multiplatform viewing records, surpassing 5 million views in the first week alone, drawing equal male and female viewership (**SOURCE: Starz internal data and Nielsen audience figures as of 8/14/14). Additionally, the series premiere marked a notable media and social media success for the network, with fans hosting viewing parties around the country. It was No. 1 in Nielsen Ratings for Twitter conversation volume among all television series on premiere day, trended twice at No. 2 in U.S. Twitter Trends (**SOURCE: Sysomos).

Starz Releases Opening Title Sequence from 'Outlander' (Video)

Outlander premieres August 9.

Starz has released a first look at the opening title song and sequence of its highly anticipated original series Outlander.

The opening showcases never-before-seen footage from the series, along with an arrangement of the "Skye Boat Song" by Emmy-award winning composer Bear McCreary featuring the vocals of songstress Raya Yarbrough.

The network first shared the main sequence upon over 1,500 enthusiastic fans at the Comic-Con world premiere screening of Outlander at San Diego's historic Spreckels Theatre on Friday night.

Starz Offers Free Sampling of Series Premiere Episode of 'Outlander' on TV and Online Beginning August 2

Millions of "Outlander" fans... your time has nearly come. Starz announced today details of an early opportunity to enjoy the first full episode of the new STARZ Original Series, "Outlander," beginning August 2. One of the most widely-anticipated STARZ Original series, "Outlander" is adapted from Diana Gabaldon's international best-selling books and executive produced by Ronald D. Moore ("Battlestar Galactica"). Free sampling of the series premiere episode will be available with multiple television and online platforms nationwide leading up to the worldwide series premiere on August 9.

The "Outlander" sneak peek gives millions of fans the chance to watch Episode 101: Sassenach* one week in advance of its premiere on Saturday, August 9 at 9:00 pm ET/PT exclusively on STARZ. The first eight episodes of the 16-episode first season will air over eight consecutive Saturdays through September 27 with the second half scheduled to continue in early 2015.

Starz Original Series 'Outlander' To Present at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 on Friday, July 25th

Starz will present the highly anticipated new series Outlander, based on The New York Times bestselling novels penned by Diana Gabaldon with executive producer Ronald D. Moore at a panel on Friday, July 25th at 2:15 p.m. in room 6A at San Diego Comic Con.

Outlander spans the genres of romance, science fiction, history, and adventure in one epic tale. It follows the story of Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe), a married combat nurse from 1945, who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743. Upon her arrival, she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate relationship is ignited and Claire's heart is torn between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

Outlander premieres Saturday, August 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT exclusively on Starz and is produced by Tall Ship Productions, Story Mining & Supply Company and Left Bank Pictures in association with Sony Pictures Television.
