The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has announced the promotion of David Michaels to Senior Vice President Daytime Emmy Awards and Events. Mr. Michaels has been serving as the Senior Executive Director of the Daytime Emmy Awards since August of 2012.
"We are pleased to acknowledge the outstanding work and individual leadership that David Michaels has brought to the organization," said Bob Mauro, President, NATAS. "His vision, skill and management of the Daytime Emmy® Awards and his diverse background in television production and events have made him a welcome addition to our NATAS staff."
Mr. Michaels began working as a performer at age of seventeen, appearing in productions in New York, around the USA, Canada and in Europe. He worked steadily as an actor until he competed on a game show when an immediate fascination with the "behind the scenes" world of Daytime Television led to his first production job with the legendary Bob Stewart Productions.
