'The Night Shift' Generates Biggest Audience Since Premiere

Renewed for a second season by NBC yesterday, The Night Shift (1.5/5 in 18-49, 7.2 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 1) jumped versus last week by +25% in 18-49 rating (to a 1.5 from a 1.2) and by +21% or 1.2 million persons in total viewers (7.164 million vs. 5.921 million). The Night Shift won the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key measure. Night Shift was the #2 show of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49, behind only America's Got Talent.

The Night Shift delivered its top 18-49 rating since June 10 (1.5) and matched its highest rating since the show premiered May 27 (1.6). In total viewers, Night Shift generated its biggest overall audience (7.164 million) since the May 27 debut (7.669 million).

In its sixth week, The Night Shift is still retaining 94% of its premiere 1.6 in 18-49 on May 27, which was NBC's top summer drama debut in five years (since The Philanthropist, June 24, 2009).
