Daniel Cosgrove: 'I Think Everybody Has Heard of Bo and Hope'

Daniel Cosgrove talked about his Days of our Lives character, Aiden Jennings, in a new interview with About.com published recently.

He praised Kristian Alfonso.

"She's fantastic, and I really like working with her. She works very, very hard. When you're in a scene with her, she really brings it. She helps me, because it makes me want to deliver. You don't want to let her down. I want to be the best I can be when I'm working with her."

Cosgrove appreciated the way Aiden was introduced on Days.


"What was nice about coming in was the way it was written. It would have been awful, knowing her situation as a married woman, if Aiden had come onto the show and was like, "Your daughter is so rude and bullying my son. Who do you think you are? Whoa! Wait a minute. Let's talk about this over drinks." Then, the next thing you know, we're romancing. I did not want my character to have that element right away, that cheesy factor, and he didn't. I think that made it easier for viewers to see a new actor coming in and working with Kristian's Hope."

He was aware of Bo and Hope before he joined Days and understands the show has to be careful in how Aiden and Hope are developed as a couple.

"I think everybody has heard of Bo and Hope, even people who don't watch soaps. They've all heard of Luke and Laura and Bo and Hope. They're the two couples that everyone knows."

"I understand and I think the show understands that it's a delicate situation. She's half of Bo and Hope.  If it's written delicately, Hope and Aiden can work. I have faith that the writers will do that. I like the whole dynamic [between them]. It's building slowly. There's a lot of material there to explore and there are going to be some really good scenes coming up."
