Indie Series Awards Winners: 'Giants' Best Drama, 'Indoor Boys' Best Comedy

The winners of the 10th Annual Indie Series Awards were announced in a ceremony on Wednesday, April 3, hosted by Eric Martsolf, Kevin Spirtas and Patrika Darbo, all former hosts who returned. Not announced prior to the ceremony, one by one they took the stage declaring they were the best former host and should, obviously, host the milestone 10th anniversary celebration. Top honors went to Giants and Indoor Boys , named best drama and best comedy series of the year. Giants won awards in a record-breaking seven categories, including best writing (J. August Richards, lead actor (James Bland), lead actress (Vanessa Baden Kelly), supporting actress (Tanee McCall), score (Austin Wintory) and original song ("More Love" by Kareem James and Ashly Williams). Indoor Boys took home four ISAs, including best writing (Wesley Taylor and Alex Wyse), guest actress in a comedy (Krysta Rodriguez) and guest actor in a comedy (Michael Kostroff). 10th Annual Indie Series Awards Nominees Announced

James Bland stars as Malachi in Giants . The 10th Annual Indie Series Awards nominations were revealed on Wednesday in a Facebook Live broadcast hosted by former winners Dee Freeman and Michael Taylor Gray. The ISAs celebrate the best in independently produced entertainment created for the Web. Nominees were announced in 30 categories. Giants led all series with 19 total nominations, followed by After Forever with 14. Those shows will compete in the Best Drama Series category with Conversations in L.A. , In Absentia , The New 30 , Only Children , Riley Parra and What's Your Status . Indoor Boys led all comedies with 13 nominations. The series is joined in the Best Comedy Series field by 190 Lorimer , #Adulting , The Amazing Gayl Pile: Apocalypse Soonish , Does It Fart , My 90-Year-Old Roommate , The Rich and the Ruthless and #Washed . 9th Annual Indie Series Awards Nominees Revealed!

The nominations for the 9th Annual Indie Series Awards were revealed on Wednesday, January 31. Celebrating the best in independently produced  entertainment created for the Web, ISAs nominees were announced in 30 categories. Ladies of the Lake  led all series with 18 total nominations, followed by  The Bay  with 16. Those shows will compete in the Best Drama Series category with  Anacostia ,  Giants ,  L.A. Macabre ,  Riley Parra ,  Running With Violet  and  Teenagers . Filth City  led all comedies with 12 nominations. The series is joined in the Best Comedy Series field by  190 Lorimer ,  The Amazing Hoolister Park ,  Bad Timing ,  Dear Mankind ,  How to Buy a Baby ,  Indoor Boys  and  ThreadBare . 'Serial Scoop Now': 'Driving Miss Daisy' Opening Night - Part 1

On the Season 3 premiere of Serial Scoop Now , host Chelsea Matthews traveled to the Colony Theatre in Burbank for the opening night of Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, "Driving Miss Daisy," starring Emmy Award winner Donna Mills, Arthur Richardson and James Leo Ryan. "Driving Miss Daisy" takes place in the 1940s through 1970s at the height of the Civil Rights movement. The play delicately explores racial tensions when a warm friendship evolves between an elderly Jewish woman and her black chauffeur. Production Begins on Hallmark Channel's 'Summer in the Vineyard'

Principal photography began this week in Okanagan Valley, British Columbia on the romantic comedy "Summer in the Vineyard." The film reunites Rachael Leigh Cook ("Perception") and Brendan Penny ("Motive") who reprise their roles as Frankie Baldwin and Nate DeLuca. The movie will premiere during Hallmark Channel's annual "Summer Nights" programming event, featuring four new, original movie premieres celebrating the fun and carefree days of summer. The movie is the follow up to the successful "Autumn in the Vineyard," and continues the romance between Frankie Baldwin (Cook) and Nate DeLuca (Penny). As their first year at Sorrento Farms is coming to a close, they are looking forward to debuting their first vintage wine during the town's annual 'Summerfest' celebration. Production Begins on Hallmark Channel Movie 'Sun, Sand & Romance'

Production has begun on "Sun, Sand & Romance," reuniting "Battlestar Galactica" castmates Tricia Helfer ("Lucifer," "Suits") and Paul Campbell ("Knightrider"). Shooting on location in Cancun, Mexico, the movie will premiere during Hallmark Channel's annual "Summer Nights" programming event, featuring four new, original movie premieres celebrating the fun of the season. "Duck Dynasty's" Sadie Robertson also stars. Kate (Helfer), a driven accounting executive, heads to Cancun with her boyfriend Eric, an equally ambitious land development executive, for some much-needed rest and relaxation.
