4 Ways Eileen Davidson and Lisa Rinna Crossed Paths Before 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'

Eileen Davidson and Lisa Rinna join the cast of RHOBH for Season 5.

Lisa Rinna (Days of our Lives) and Eileen Davidson (The Young and the Restless, Days of our Lives) join vets Brandi Glanville, Lisa Vanderpump, Kyle Richards, Kim Richards, and Yolanda Foster for Season 5 of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Rinna and Davidson are very familiar with each other, having met and worked together multiple times over the years.

While we wait for the RHOBH season premiere, check out four of the ways Rinna and Davidson have crossed paths during their careers.

Lisa Rinna dated Eileen Davidson's Young and the Restless co-star Peter Barton.

1. Rinna started dating actor Peter Barton in the late '80s. Barton starred as Scott Grainger on The Young and the Restless with Davidson, who played Ashley Abbott, from 1982 to December 1988, when she quit the soap. In the storyline, Scott's AIDS patient (and future step-mother), Jessica Blair, married Ashley's father, John Abbott. In the RHOBH Season 5 trailer, Rinna talked about meeting Davidson: "The first time I met Eileen on The Young and the Restless, to me it was like, 'Oh my god, there's Ashley.'"

Note: Davidson returned to Y&R in March 1999 and has been on and off the soap ever since. She also crossed her character over to The Bold and the Beautiful for a year (2007-2008). Rinna has been happily married to Harry Hamlin since 1997.

2. Rinna debuted on Days of our Lives in the role of Billie Reed on September 18, 1992. Davidson joined the cast the following year, making her first appearance as Kristen Blake on May 17, 1993. It wasn't long before Billie met Kristen at the Cheatin' Heart bar. They worked together for 28 months before Rinna departed Days in September 1995. Davidson left in April 1998, but not before taking on four roles in addition to Kristen.


Note: Both actresses returned to Days years later and were each part of the cast from October 2012 to January 2013.  Davidson recently finished her latest run on Days but will be returning to the soap in Spring 2015.

3. Rinna co-hosted hosted Soap Talk with Ty Treadway on the now defunct SOAPnet cable network. The show had Davidson on as a guest in 2004 and again in 2006 (see clip below).

4. Rinna and Davidson have attended the same awards shows, including the 2007 Daytime Emmys in Los Angeles, where Rinna was nominated for the fourth time in the "Outstanding Talk Show Host" category. Davidson has garnered three Emmy nominations as "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series" for her work in the daytime drama, finally winning in 2014.
