'General Hospital' Star Laura Wright Teams Up With ASPCA For 'We-Care' Campaign

Laura Wright and Fire.
When she's not busy being kidnapped, getting involved with inappropriate men, or suffering life-threatening accidents, actress Laura Wright—known for all these exploits and more as Carly Corinthos Jacks on ABC daytime soap opera General Hospital—is a devoted pet owner and animal lover at her home in Santa Ynez, California. In fact, she and her husband and children recently added a new four-legged member to the family: Fire, a border collie-German shepherd puppy, whom they fell in love with at Old Yeller Rescue Ranch in Los Olivos, California.

That's why Wright enthusiastically agreed to be part of a new campaign on behalf of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), the first animal welfare organization in North America and the nation’s leading voice for animals. More than two million supporters strong, the ASPCA is a national leader in the areas of anti-cruelty, community outreach and animal health services.

Starting June 17, Wright is serving as the face of a unique online partnership between ASPCA and we-care.com, a handy browser app that will donate a portion of shoppers’ online purchases from their favorite shopping destinations to the ASPCA at no extra cost to the shopper. Wright is encouraging the public to take the small step of signing up for we-care to help make a big difference for animals in need.
