New Starz Original Series 'Power' Premiered with Solid Opening: Multiplatform Performance of More Than 2.6 Million Viewers

Power had a solid ratings start.
Power, the new Starz Original series drama from Executive Producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, debuted this past weekend, yielding more than 2 million Live+SD viewers for Saturday and Sunday airings, with the youngest Starz demos since “Spartacus: War of the Damned” and an evenly balanced gender split.

The Power Saturday night 9 p.m. ET/PT premiere yielded 462K Live+SD viewers. Saturday night performance total with re-airings delivered 1.27 million viewers.

Preliminary multiplatform sampling from the week-long on-demand and online sampling campaign yielded an additional 480,000 viewers, raising the total viewership of the first episode to 2.6 million and counting. This included a single telecast on Starz sister network Encore, which contributed nearly 150,000 viewers to the multiplatform performance. Note: additional multiplex, extended DVR, on-demand, Starz Play/online, and complete sampling data are not included in the figures above.

The 2 million weekend Live+SD Starz viewers is on par with the season two premiere of Da Vinci's Demons and last August's limited series The White Queen.

As to other demographic data:

* Women 18+ made up 45% of the Power weekend viewers, men 18+ made up 48%

* Adults 18-49 represented 52% of the Power audience this weekend, while Adults 50+ made up 40%
