First Impressions of Michelle Stafford as Nina Clay on 'General Hospital'

Michelle Stafford made her first full appearance as Nina Clay on General Hospital on Wednesday when Nina surprised Silas (Michael Easton) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) at Danny's birthday party.  Since half the residents of Port Charles have died and turned up alive at some point, her "return from the dead" seemed to have little impact on the people around her.

Molly (Haley Pulos) and TJ (Tequan Richmond) were completely oblivious to anything that was going on, while Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Julian (William DeVry) took seconds to digest the information.

Silas (Michael Easton) questioned how Nina she could be alive but never looked truly shocked. Nina seemed pleased that she and Silas were still married and he wasn’t continuing an affair with Ava (Maura West).

Meanwhile, Sam (Kelly Monaco) seemed rather bored through the entire exchange, and I couldn’t tell what she was thinking. She probably was imagining that if Jason (Steve Burton) was alive, she would dump Silas on the spot.

And what about Danny? His reaction was the one I really wanted to see. How dare Nina bust up his birthday party.

I'll say one thing for Nina, she sure recovered from a 20-year coma in a hurry. She may be in a wheelchair but she's still quite the medical miracle.

Overall, it was a very underwhelming first day. Only time will tell if Nina will become an integral part of the cast and can breathe life into the Sam and Silas pairing.

What did interest me is the potential future encounter that Nina and Ava (Maura West) are certain to have, and the possibility of doom for Kiki (Kristen Alderson) who is, after all, a product of the Silas and Ava affair. Nina, if you must kill Kiki, I completely understand.
